When is Las Vegas' "off season"?

What I mean is, during what months can I expect hotel rates to be lower?

I believe august because of the brutal heat, and around xmas cause $$$ is low.
 
Otherwise check out when there is a lull in conventions and no major sports event ( that just means big  NFL football weeks, NCAA hoops, nationally  and  National Finals Rodeo, Nascar locally)
 
 
I will tell you though if you look around rooms are not expensive except in really really big weeks, or at the absolute top hotels.....vegas has so many rooms you will be surprised at the cost

I find that Feb and March (before the Big Dance) are really slow. Also went in Nov and it was dead, compared to the spring/summer. The rates did seem cheaper for the months I mentioned.

The week leading up to xmas. If your playing $5 hands you're getting comped.

Right after the super bowl up until March madness is usually good rates, if one hotel is bad, check another due to conventions.
June July and August due to the brutal heat!!!!!!

December is the deadest month in Vegas. At times the strip can seems like a ghost town and some of the hotel rates take an 80% drop.

Example: For this month Mandalay Bay has rooms going for $450 max. In December most of the nightly rates are $110.

Dog, I might need that information for my next cover forum meetin trip  . I am only planning to stay 1 night though unless we are on roll . I will call you a week before the plan week.

Like others said, December.  Another good way to see where slow weekends are throughout the year is to go onto specific hotel websites and see where there rates are way lower than usual.

The slowest weeks of the year are hands down from Thanksgiving until New Years Eve.

You gotta narrow that down.  I've been there for both Thanksgiving and New Years Eve.  Both very busy.  Week after Thanksgiving and before new years too.  But probably the first three weeks of December are quiet, although I think that's when they hold some rodeo or something.

I would think late summer is quieter as well.

The week after New Year's is dead, I have been there.  I was there whenever the Gators played Maryland in the bowl game a few year's back, Spurrier's last game as coach, I was on a roll, won about 42K, and upgraded to a suite and stayed another week!!!!!  LOL  To all my non believers, I made copies of the tickets!!!!

Why would I have to narrow it down?  It is only a span of 4 weeks I am talking about and of course I didn't mean NYE itself was slow.  Being that I do live here in Las Vegas I think I have a alright grasp of when it is the slowest and when it isn't.

July was pretty dead last time I went, rates were good but the heat sucks the life out of you.
