Basically what I ma asking is this: Are there just a handful of companies that run all the books, or are most of the books fairly independent operations?
Take the Belagio for instance. Is their book run by the Belagio or does the Belagio rent the space out to another company who also runs books at other casinos around town? (I know that many of the casinos are all owned by the same company, that is not what I am asking. I am talking about separate casino operations.)
The last time I was in Vegas it seemed that the sportsbooks were all separate operations from the rest of the casino, which made me think they were just renting the space and there may actually be only be 2-3 companies that run all of the books in town.

Thanks for the info. My first trip out I went to the Stratosphere. I picked it because I got a great deal on a room and I knew it was across the street from LVH. I knew absolutely NOTHING about Vegas back then. I remember walking outside and saying, "WTF are all the other casinos?" My next trip was to the Bellagio.
