Holly Holm vs. Germaine de Randemie
Pick: Holly Holm
Lots of people want to go against Holly Holm because of her last two losses, but those were losses against some of the most stunning female fighters in the division - Miesha Tate (who is currently retired) and Valentina Shevchenko (who is looking absolutely amazing and getting better every day). Between those two, even with the losses, Holly put up a hell of a fight.
De Randamie is a relatively fresh face who hasn't yet fought opponents quite like Holly. Though she is visibly confident, it seems to me that de Randamie is simply excited to be given the opportunity to fight one of the greatest female strikers in the world.
Prediction: Randamie is going to keep this a striking match. Holly is not going to get backed into a corner by her, and there is no chance of her taking Holly down to the ground. Holly will be at the offense in this fight, and I foresee her backing Randamie up into the corner, as Randamie flees. Ultimately, Holly has proven herself with tougher female opponents, she's stronger and faster in every way, and I'm betting on a first round knockout.
Anderson Silva vs Derek Brunson
Pick: Anderson Silva
Derek Brunson fights the legendary Anderson Silva. We can give Silva a pass for losing against a wrestler like Daniel Cormier, but Silva has been on a losing streak for quite a while now. Brunson has massive power in his hands. He's super confident and rushes recklessly toward his opponents with a fury of strikes. That sort of recklessness will not work against someone like Silva. Silva is chaotic.
Prediction: Brunson will overreach and fall right into the Spider's trap. Silva will knock out Brunson in the first or second round with anything from punches to kicks, knees, or elbow strikes.
