PHIL DAVIS EV

RASHAD EVANS -130

Any reason why Evans isn't a lock here?

Davis's standup looks horrible to me.

When i saw them lines i was pretty muched shocked. I am on rashad and dont get me wrong i really like phil davis but i am gonna bet rashard unless he goes up to -150 or something.

I think i might go to this event.

I went to ufc 101 (in philly)

it was a great time.

Better wrestling for Phil, long layoff and new camp for Rashad.

I'd pick Phil Davis at -105 if it were tomorrow.... but I don't envision myself play a side in that fight.

Line seems just right to me.

I'd take Phil to win this fight.  Last time Rashad fought another wrestler in Tito Ortiz he lost (Tito got deducted a point for grabbing the fence which led to a draw). I am pretty surprised at these odds though.  The value seems to lie in Rashad to be honest (i'm not a big fan of Sugar)

Yea because its not like Rashad hasn't improved or anything since then?  Fight was like 4 years ago dude.

I am no fan of Rashad and usually root against him, as I will if I don't bet this fight.

But I see no reason to take Phil.  Does Phil hold better paper wrestling?  Yea.  But has he looked as good as his credentials in the cage? No.  He beat Nog, but I was hardly impressed, considering how hard of a time Nog has been having in the UFC.

Rashad is the much more experienced, and much more well-rounded fighter....who happens to have wrestling too.  Phil isn't just going to take him down and control him for 3 rounds. 

I expect Rashad to win.  I have no idea why the odds are the way they are.  Only scary thing is the camp switch and ring rust.  If it weren't for that I would bet Rashad at these odds.  I think he is the better fighter at this point in their careers for sure.

College wrestling doesn't always translate into great MMA wrestling.  See Bader for that one.  See GSP for not even being a wrestling but still being the better wrestler than most all. 

Phil has a great college wrestling career.  But things change in the cage.

That is all he holds over Rashad...a supposed wrestling advantage.  Personally I think their wrestling cancels out and this is a standup fight.
