MMAweekly.com had posted the rumor that Penn would fight the GSP/Fitch winner last week. Scheduled for the Dec. 27th card along with TUF match up of Noguiera vs Mir.
After seeing Penn in the ring after GSP won, I have to believe this fight is going to happen. If GSP takes it, they could make the biggest fight ever with GSP vs A.SILVA.

GSP too long for BJ. Don't think BJ has come close to fighting anyone with the combination of speed and length of GSP. I think GSP vs Anderson Silva is the mega match that should eventually be made.

Anderson Silva is a much better striker than GSP. The whole idea of a GSP/Silva match is absolutely retarded, GSP would get smashed in the first round. And no, BJ Penn does not walk around at the same weight as GSP, I promise you that.

Those guys rate up to the likes of BJ Penn, Matt Hughes, Karo Parisyan, Josh Koshchek, Sean Sherk, Matt Serra, and the list goes on and on. All those guys were in the primes of their careers with only 1 or 2 losses and GSP dominated most of them. Anderson Silva is a beast, but you can't say its going to be a big mismatch

You do understand that Dan Henderson would destroy everyone on that list, with maybe the exception of BJ Penn, right? You do know that Anderson Silva is easily the most lethal striker in the game, and would have GSP whimpering in the corner within 3 minutes, right?
You really can't compare the competition, because Dan Henderson is better than every single one of those guys you mentioned that GSP has beaten. You automatically lose credibility when you bring up the name Matt Serra. The guy is a scrub who should be fighting at 155.
If Silva ever fights GSP and the line is somewhat reasonable (as in -275 or less) I can't wait to hammer that line.

Exactly, GSP will be moving up from 170 which means he'll probably only be cutting a couple pounds, and Silva will be cutting his usual 20-30 lbs. That's a big weight difference, add in Silva's length advantage and his way superior striking and it spells disaster for GSP. Explain to me how GSP even makes this fight competitive. How is he going to take Anderson down when all he does is double or single leg takedowns? Anderson feeds on those types of people and will knee/kick GSP's face into oblivion.
I guarantee Silva will destroy GSP if they ever meet up, and I still can't take you seriously.

I just feel that they need to eliminate some of these classes to avoid any confusion. Why do you need a 155, 185 and 205? Why not just lightweight, under 180 and heavyweight 180+? I just hate the weight classes where guys walk around at 210 then cut weight to make 185 or 165. Just my opinion, a guy really isn't in a weight class that he has to lose 30-40 pounds to make weight.
