Wooooooo. First post in MMA section even though Im always watching and playing on the UFC for years. I post in other sports forums here. Wooooooooooooooo. Here are my picks.
Deiveson Figueiredo -150
11-0 regional circuit. UFC debut. Brazil. He wins.
Johnny Eduardo +135
The Brazilian Eduardo fights in his hometown Brazil and I dont see him losing to Mathew Lopez. Eduardo last fight he beat Manny Gamburyan by Tko and when you look at his 2 losses in the UFC he lost to top bantamweight contenders Aljamain Sterling and Raphael Assuncao. Eduardo may not be a fighter to get over the hump for a title shot however I am not convinced he is a stepping stone. Eduardo wins.
Viviane Pereira -165
13 straight for Vivianne. Wont be easy but she'll get the win.
Raphael Assuncao +185
Lots of hype with Marlin Moraes but he is going to have to prove it to me tonight against one of the best bantamweights in Raphael Assuncao. They didnt do Moraes no favors by giving him this fight. Assuncao snaps Moraes 13 fight win streak in a gritty beatdown
Yancy Medeiros -140
Yancy is going to do get the job done in Brazil tonight vs Silva. He is going to want to win to set the tone for the night for his training mate in the main event Max Hollaway. Silva is very inconsistent with a .500 record his past 13 fights or so. His defense is going to cost him to get tagged by Yancy's onslaught and I see Yancy either winning by tko or submission. Yancy is a good fighter and the ove in weight class might be a blessing for his career.
Vitor Belfort -165
Dangerous play because Belfort is washed however it is in his home country Brazil and apparently he said his training camp in the states has been great and he doesnt feel like he will retire yet. Whether its his retirement fight or not Belfort will beat Nate Marquardt. Nate has been worse than Belfort when you look at his past 10 fights and the ppl he lost to.
Karolina Kowalkiewcz +270
I love Karolina. She is a dangerous woman and she beats up Claudia in a stunner in Brazil to get the highly anticipated rematch between her and the champ Joanna. I love Claudia but I think the hometown pressure causes her to make some mistakes giving Karolina the openings to strike hard. Claudia will try to take this fight to the ground when she realizes that Karolina's striking is as lethal as Joanna's. However Karolina will be ready and counter will kicks and hard strikes when she shoots. Karolina by TKO. Yea I know what youre thinking..
