Stephens/Magomedsharipov
Magomedsharipov will take Stephens down. Once it hits the floor, Zabit will sub him. I'd be surprised to see this go past round 2. Stephens is just too one dimensional against a guy who can finish multiple ways.
Magomedsharipov to win inside distance +196
Next up...
Lawler/Askren
Kind of similar to last prediction above, fighter with one punch power but one dimensional for the most part. Lawler suffered an acl injury and hes going against a wrestler and very good submission expert.
Lawler just isn't the same obviously and on his back I expect Askren to bloody him til the ref stops it or knee bar brutal!
Now Askren is more of a decision guy but this matchup is perfect for him to showcase his ground skills against a legend.
Askren to win inside distance +355
Now, I expect both Magomedsharipov and Askren to win no matter what. The only shot Lawler and Stephens have is one shot ko which is highly unlikely against better wrestlers with superior ground skills.
I do like dogs more but this card screams chalk.
The only dog I like is Diego Sanchez because of his toughness, cardio, ground game and Gall hasn't impressed me as of yet with his limited fights. This is really a 50/50 fight. I think Diego subs him.
One fight I go back and forth with is Woodley/Usman.
Woodley's lack of cardio in comparison to Usman makes me think Usman can win just on activity, but I feel Woodley should dominate.
Initially, I wanted to take Woodley to win inside distance +130 but I might layoff because I think he's going to pace himself. I still think Woodley wins regardless, but more likely in a decision.
Dog to avoid:
Anthony Smith. Bones will crack this guy with some nasty stuff. Jones is just another level. Burn your money if you're contemplating betting Smith. I would take Jones to win inside the distance but I don't bet juice.
I watched Smith at the presser and his body language told me he doesn't want any of Jones.
Moving on...
I'd like to hear your predictions and fights you look forward to!
