Dudes, don't get excited. This was a fix. I didn't even see it, or have ot see it for that matter. If Rousey wanted to extend her career, she had to take a dive, to create more interest. PÉRIOD.
Before you ignorantly call me stoopid, think about this....a Rousey loss creates millions more buzz and hype for the mega-fight with Cyborg, which si coming right up.
That sounds crazy and I disagree. I think her getting destroyed like that losses millions of buzz and hype for the mega fight with cyborg. Her success has helped the ufc make money bringing more casuals over to watch that would never watch in the first place. Going by your logic means that floyd should have lost to pac. I think you are going a little overboard on saying it was fixed on rondas part bc she was not trying to lose and neither was holm. I will end saying that spiritual warfare had a part in this and the bad side knew they were gonna lose

I want to believe some crazy conspiracy about the massive line-drop on Holm in the 6-8 hours leading up to the fight. I just don't think it's likely. It's more likely someone with a lot of money (Floyd?) and a grudge against Rousey (Floyd?) and a shared profession of boxing (Floyd?) dropped multiple millions of dollars spread out on a bunch of books, on a Holm bet.
Rousey losing to a nobody underdog isn't that surprising. The story of this fight syncs up perfectly with Rahman/Lewis I. Lennox was out of shape, had no respect for Rahman, was totally distracted in camp, got KTFO'd. Rousey did the same exact thing. She looked plump, was winded early, had no plan, got KTFO'd.
TBH, I'm pretty sure she's going to dispose of Holm in the rematch, just like Lennox did to Rahman.

Honestly suprised more people didnt see this coming. i totally forgot the fight was that day. +1000 odds in a ufc fight where anything can happen and holms is the better striker.. like professional boxing not MMA with some striking.

I just watched the fight and I don't buy a fix at all. Mainly cause it's stupid for Rousey; her aura of invincibility led to endorsements don't think they're going to keep giving her $ now that she's human. Call me a sexist but it's girl's MMA there's not a huge audience to begin with; if you're not exceptional, or you don't look like Gina Carano, joe public doesn't care about you and advertisers don't pay you to hock product. Watching the fight I think Rousey sorely underestimated her opponent and got crushed by a far superior striker. Don't really know how you underestimate a world boxing champ's boxing but Rousey kept coming straight at her with no movement and wasconstantly eating punches.

yea, I don't buy a fix either. Ronda is worth WAY more as an undefeated/invincible fighter than she is after the way this all played out. The UFC wouldn't have booked this fight if they weren't confident Ronda would win. I always thought Holm might be Ronda's toughest test, but figured Holm was getting this fight way too early. In another year, I thought Holm would have a better shot at winning. Was definitely shocked by this result.
To me, Ronda just had a HORRIBLE gameplan. She totally underestimated Holm on the feet and almost seemed like she was out to try to prove a point that she was better than Holm on the feet. She just continued to come forward, even know she was continuously eating counter shots. Not 1 single adjustment was made. It was like a big sister trying to prove to her little sister that she's better than her and refusing to fight smart. And her corner gave her ZERO help after Round 1. Telling her how she was doing great was ridiculous. They should have been imploring her to get inside and clinch and try to get this fight to the ground, where Ronda had a much better chance of winning. But no adjustments were made and Rousey continued to just plod forward like an idiot. I mean, Holm didn't even look that impressive in her previous fight. It was one of the reasons I didn't think she had what it took to beat Rousey at this point in their careers. Just seemed like Holm need a lot more MMA work. Maybe Ronda thought the same thing. But after 1 round of Plan A not working, Ronda needed to try Plan B and she refused to. She looked completely lost out there and I am still in shock from what I witnessed. I lost a ton of money on that fight and it was a very humbling experience for me. All credit to Holm, but I feel like it was more of a bad gameplan and lack of adjustments from Rousey during the fight that cost her. I would most certainly take Rousey in a rematch because I think I would have Rousey's full 100% dedication and attention for that fight. Hopefully she learned a lesson here. I know I did.

well said Moneymaker. The mid round talk was horrible. That's the one thing that made me maybe think she was taking a dive, or maybe her corner bet on Holm. She was doing so poorly the "you're doing great" was probably mentally followed up with - getting destroyed so I win my bet.

Suddenly, Rousey is vulnerable--she has lost. How many more PPV buys do you think will be had due to Rousey's loss tonight? Not to mention the rematch with Holm which is a given.
Alot of peopledon't understand that Rousey's success has actually hurt trhe UFC more than it has helped it. Just like Mayweather's fights hurt boxing, though they filled his pockets with cash. Floyd nut-huggers and fanboys will never admit it, but boxing will thrive much more once he is gone. Face it.
Boxing does the same thing. This is no different. Rousey's loss was fixed, to reinvigorate interest in the women's section of the UFC. Clear as day. Don't believe me? Then explain WHY the line dropped so much come fight time..........this was not a run of the mill "natural" adjustment fo an inflated line. Think Tyson vs Douglas, Weidman vs Silva, etc.
Not that hard to see.............
Yes your points are important. While some of it surprised me

I've boxed plenty and its hard to believe see didn't have her hands up . Taking those punches I saw eat, you wouldn't need anybody to tell you to keep your hands up. Hardly anyone can drop their hands like Ali used to and dance around and box well. Man
if she even wants a rematch she should really focus on boxing,I know she is great with an arm bar but after she got nailed a few times she was just trying to survive. If I got my azz kicked like she did I wouldn't even want a rematch....Judo and Tae kwon do are both great but boxing only compliments both martial arts.

She got served by quality boxer who also was a kick boxer.she believed her own hype about being as good as a pro fighter and paid the price.she never fought any body that could slip punches, counterpunch, foot speedect.
