Dude if you think that fight was close you're crazy! That decision was horrible! What did Almeida do besides get taken down and grinded? It should've been 4-1 maybe 5-0 Palmer. I quit watching boxing because of judging like this...

Palmer didn't have that much success taking Almeida down and especially not doing any damage in a couple of those rounds. He won rounds 4 and 5 on my cards for sure. Round 1 was up for debate and I thought Almeida won round 2 & 3 arguably by doing more damage. Takedowns alone with no damage don't win fights nowadays.

Almeida did 0 damage! When you get put on your behind 4 out of 5 rounds and grinded and win a decision you go play the lottery the next day!
He didn't get put on his behind and grinded most of the fight. He got taken down a few times for relatively short periods of time, hardly sustained any damage during these attempts and then got up successfully each time. Except for the fourth round where he got his back taken- that one was clearly more dangerous.
Mind you, I agree with you Palmer likely should have won, but judges in recent times are not just giving a round for an inconsequential or brief takedown where little or no damage is delivered if the other parts of the round were close or back and forth.

As a IOWA guy who hates ohio st guys and ohio st in general, how does a champ hit 10 out of 11 TD, no 10-8 rounds and lose. Center of the ring doesn't make you a champ????????? Same judges for the Hendricks/St. Pierre fight I guess!!!!!!!!!
