Thanks. Okay Tampa Bay today is facing Boston. Smyly is red hot and Detroit should never have included this guy in a trade. He only gave up one run in his last two starts for Tampa Bay. He is like 2-0 2.70 ERA against Boston. He has surrendered three or less runs in 10 of his last 14 games and in 5 of his last 7 games. So you have solid pitching here. Plus he's pitching at home in TB today. And let's not forget in his last 3 games his ERA has been a phenomenal 1.17 ERA in those last three games.
As for Boston they have De La Rosa who is pitching for them. He defeated Tampa Bay 7-1 back in May 31 and he did not surrender a run in that game. That being said, Boston is 5-5 in his last 10 starts. However, Boston is 2-1 in his last 3 starts because of Boston's offensive hitting. De La Rosa has only pitched 15.1 innings in his last 3 games and his ERA is 6.46 ERA in his last 3 games.
Boston is 4-2 in their last 6 games.
Tampa Bay is 2-5 in their last 7 games.
This is a four game series between the two teams. The first three games are as follows
Boston wins 8-4
Tampa Bay wins 8-0
Boston wins 3-0
Will Boston win 3 out of 4? There's a possibility. They have better hitting than Tampa Bay lately.
My betting lean on this one is Tampa Bay with superior starting pitching and a struggling start for Boston. Also, it is difficult to win 3 out of 4 games in a four game series. Most end in a draw 2-2. You can take a look at the MLB stats for the year for that one.
As for Arizona vs San Diego today, I have no opinion. I generally stay away from those teams. Basically, San Diego has solid pitching both starting (3rd best in all of major league) and relief (2nd best in all of major league), but their bats are suspect. I mean their hitting is dead LAST in major league as they are batting .225 for the year. Arizona is better in hitting at the 18th spot in the major league .250 batting average for the year. San Diego's Tyson Ross boasts one of the best ERAs in the NL with a 2.64 ERA for the year and 2.66 ERA in his last 3 games. Arizona's Trevor Cahil is 4.98 ERA for the year and 5.51 ERA in his last 3 games.
They are playing in San Diego. San Diego plays like a playoff team at home as opposed to in the road. At home they are 38-29 and on the road they are 26-42. Arizona is 28-36 away.
I'd lean San Diego on this one this one. They are solid at home. If this was in Arizona I would avoid the game.
But you must take into consideration San Diego's batting as they are dead last in batting average in the league all year. But I am a starting pitching leaner all the time so I take that as the biggest factor in baseball games.
These are just my opinions on these games by the way. Good luck on your play.
