Where is Betts supposed to play? He's blocked at his normal 2B position by Pedroia. Yes he can play outfield but HanRam, Rusney, and Victorinio all being paid big contracts. Betts will end up being a Super-Sub with the Red Sox skrewing up yet another up and coming talent.

Exactly. He has the highest rating I've ever seen that doesn't even have an everyday position locked up. I don't know how Vic will perform this year with hopefully staying healthy. This offense will definitely be on the upswing. Cant pitch around Big Papi this year

We have seen this before. That kind of projection based on very little data (52 games, 189 at bats) can prove to be radically wrong, or, it can take a guy a while to live up to his hype. With one of the worst starting staffs in baseball and a questionable bullpen I wouldn't hold tight to that "worst to first" hope. Teams have been loved before because their fans think they can slug their way through the season, but it never works out that way. Superior pitching is the name of the game. BOL
Now and then even a BLIND squirrel can find an acorn

In the Crappy AL Least with the shaky state of the rotations anything is possible but I certainly wouldn't hold my breath either. Betts has great minor league numbers and impressed in a small major league sample. But let's also remember this guy is 5 ft 9 155. Handiing the grind of a full MLB season, now that there is also some MLB data on him, I don't see him with his .900 plus OPS numbers he sported in the minors and think he is being overhyped a bit. Remember this is the same franchise who said Jackie Bradlely was gonna hit and just watching him I could see that was a long ways from ever happening, if ever.
