i think, unlike yesterday, the Sox actually try to get this W. a big factor will be if pedroia & ellsbury play. If they are in the line up, i think the sox are in good position to upset.
basically you got the yankee bullpen for 9 innings. Yankee backers are laying a big number on a rook. Does the rook show up in a pressure spot like this? & if the Sox can put up some runs, especially in early innings, you could have 5 - 6 innings of pen. thats a pretty shaky proposition laying a big number.
Lester has letdown this season. But he had a stellar performance vs the yanks in this park on august 18. He may have a good game left in the tank for this spot.
this is the end of the season for the sox. conventional wisdom is that they wont give a shit about this game. but i disagree. i expect them to be the looser team here, nothing to play for. Footloose & fancy free. & if they can grab this W, give their rivals a kick in the nuts going into the postseason.
Waiting for the lineup. if Dustin & Jacoby are a go then so is my Sox bet.
