When I bet on a game and the pitching staff I back gives up one earned run and I lose b/c of defensive errors and miscues, I consider that a bad beat. The Sox defense really let Houck and Kaufee down last night. Devers and Cooper were pathetic in the field. Really felt like that should've been a winner. Anyway, I digress.
Don't look now, but here come the Houston Astros, winning six of their last 7 and looking to sweep the Oakland A's tonight. The Astros sit just 5.5 games behind the division lead and are looking to jump Oakland with a win tonight.
The Astros rank 3rd in offensive efficiency against right handed pitching and I expect them to hit Estes pretty hard tonight. Don't be fooled by Estes. He was great in his last 1st start against a weak offensive team in Seattle. However, before being called up, he was sitting on a +6 ERA in Triple A. If he beats the Houston bats tonight, I'll be more than surprised.
I also expect Cristian Javier to bounce back after a rough return from the IL in his last start. And what better team to do it against than Oakland, who rank 20th in offensive efficiency vs right handed pitching.
I'm on the Astros tonight at -140 (-1) for 10 units.
Should I lose this game, that will be back to back losses for me. So, I'll be on a mandated break for at least 2 days. However, I really don't think that will be the case.
