AL East Predictions, Win Totals & Futures

1st - Blue Jays (95-67)

*I still like the Rays chemistry, style of play, coaching and frontline starters a little better, but if this team stays healthy, lookout! The Lineup is absolutely STACKED. They have a great shot at winning the AL this year. Main threat to the White Sox. OVER 91.5

2nd - Rays (92-70)

*The team just wins. This year will be no different, and don’t be shocked if they pass the Blue Jays and win the division. McClanahan, Baz, and Rasmussen will all be FILTHY… and I can’t wait to see a full season from Wander Franco (Legit MVP Candidate). OVER 89.5

3rd - Yankees (88-74)

*Not impressed with this team, outside of Cole and Judge, there’s just not much there to love. I wouldn’t be shocked to see them win less than 88 and finish 4th in the division. I’m not sure what to expect from starters 2-5 this year. And offensively… they finished near the bottom in KO’s last year… nearly 1,500 - hit .237 as a team - only stole 63 bags - and were 19th in runs scored. That’s with a $250 million payroll. UNDER 92.5

4th - RedSox (85-77)

They should be competitive this year, I’ll give them that, but they’re not a 90 win team. I like Devers, Bogaerts, and Martinez but there are holes in that lineup. Rotation wise, Sale is already hurt, hopefully he comes back healthy… but I like Eovaldi, Hill, and Houck to have decent seasons this year. I had them at 84-86 wins, so I’ll split the difference. OVER 84.5

5th - Orioles (64-98)

Means, Mullins, Mancini, Mountcastle, and Hayes are all solid pieces in Baltimore… but the rest of the team, especially the pitching staff is gonna keep them from winning games this year. I would love to see Correa go to the O’s, but I don’t think that’ll happen. If it does, I’m upping my win total here quite a bit. However, if they can build around those (5) players into next year they can definitely have a decent team. OVER 61.5

BEST VALUE BET:

Rays to win AL East +300

Jays to win ALCS +500

BEST PLAYER BET:

Shane Baz ROOKIE OF THE YEAR +700

I agree with all of that. The Jays have some firepower but the Rays have no holes to fill, a deep bench, and still have great trade bait to spare. Unheard of, really.

I'm going big with the Rays over. The Jays over is a solid bet as well, I just don't want to bet on both.

Nice analysis Riggs.    Baz is a stud for TB and i will pick Bichette again in the 1st round on my fantasy team. He's a 5 tool player
