Each person has their own goal for the chase depending on their financial situation.
Ex. Your goal is to win $10 per chase.
Game 1 is to win $10 odds for game 1 (-140) so you wager $14 to win $10. If game 1 wins the chase is over and you made $10.
If game 1 loses, your wager for game 2 would be your loss from game 1 ($14) plus your goal to win $10. Your game 2 wager would be to win $24. If game 2 odds were (-200) then your game 2 wager would be $48 to win $24.
If game 2 wins then you win $24 and have made a profit of $10.
If game 2 loses then your wager for game 3 would be your loss from game 1($14) plus your loss from game 2($48) plus your goal for the chase ($10). Your game 3 wager would be to win ($72) If odds were (-190) then your game 3 wager would be $136 to win $72.
If game 3 wins then you win $72 (recooped your $62 in losses plus your $10 goal)
If game 3 loses then your game 4 wager would be loss from game 1 ($14) plus loss from game 2 ($48) plus loss from game 3($136) plus your goal of $10. Your game 4 wager would be to win $208. and so on.
There is no doubt the longer the chase goes the more stressful the chase becomes. But if successful as Jeff's systems are, you build a bankroll currently +145 units or +1450 for a $10 wagerer.
Others like Bart and Dan successfully use a labby method of wagering to lower the "stress" of a chase.
The trolls are not correct by saying you are wagering yah amount to win $10. You are recooping your losses as well as profiting.
If you straight bet 100 games and went 60 wins and 40 losses 60% which is very good at -110 you would be 600 -440 = +160 thats not taking account most odds are -130 or higher.
Let the big mouths Bellagio, mortgageguy, Chimpo show they can pick 60 or greater winners out of 100 and make a profit of more than $200 or $300 for 100 plays. It won't happen. and thats reality.
Chase systems are not for everyone. Make sure you understand it fully so when you comment you don't come across as ignorant like the trolls which are just trying to cause trouble.
Best of Luck
Thanks and Continued Success to The Hat.

Chase System Rules for Big Boys and Girls:
The moderator gives the followers of the thread his daily plays according to his private set of secret squirrel formulas and formats. Secret squirrel formulas (sometimes referred to as parameters) are NOT divulged to anyone for obvious reasons: they are secret. Would you post your debit card details on a thread? Go ahead and try it and let us know how that works out for you. The short of the story, a successful moderator is NOT going to give YOU his parameters so you can understand how HE picks his winners...dahhhh.
YOU need only to understand three things BEFORE following a particular Chase Moderator. One, how to read and understand the odds sheet. Two, how to manage your bankroll. And three, how to place a bet. Each moderator will specify if it's a run line, money line, over/under bet, etc. Unless you never finished the fourth grade, this knowledge is easily obtainable by reading previous thread posts and doing some simple research at Covers, SBR, and online.
Next, each play or pick is signified with a LETTER. These were invented in the first grade as you remember with A being the first letter in the English alphabet. For instance, the moderator will designate a daily play as OAK (A) for the first play or pick, DET (A) as the second, etc..LAA(C), AZ(E)...
A Chase is a series of plays (picks) on a specific team. It can be a two or three or a six game chase. If the OAK (A) play was a winner, the chase is over. It's everybody's fantasy that all chases end at the (A) play with a winner. Unfortunately the moderators are not infallible and a few of the plays are somehow defective and losses are incurred...ahhhh. Very sad. If the OAK (A) play was a loss, the next time Oakland is selected as a play by the moderator, it would show as OAK(B) play, if that play were to lose, as inconceivable as that may be, this losing process would continue, in a six game chase, to the OAK (F) play. Has any baseball team ever lost 6 in a row, preposterous! People who follow baseball sometimes refer this as a “losing streak” and if you had bet on Oakland during all those defective plays A thru F, YOU would be referred to as a “fooking loser” especially if you had been using a progressive betting system in which case you would begin whining and blaming the moderator for making you the “fooking loser” that you are (and because you lost your entire bankroll by blindly following his plays). Please note, despite the outcome of the OAK(F) play and how horribly the moderator has destroyed your life, that chase is now complete and recoded accordingly as a system chase win or loss. Should Oakland come up as a play going forward, a new chase would begin as an OAK (A) play in which case, if you are following a progressive betting strategy, you'll note the betting size is much smaller on the (A) plays...phewwww.
The major bonus of the chase system: no thinking. This is ideal for people with real lives that don't have the time nor inclination to follow sports full on due to other responsibilities and/or commitments. Plunk your dough down on the daily plays, possibly quit your day job if you have one, watch tv all day, play all night, and rake in the bucks. Gives you the time to pursue your higher callings and ambitions without all those unpleasant financial concerns. Furthermore, there's no fees, taxes, no monthly payments, no student loan anything, none of those annoying debt collector issues. It costs nothing. Too cool for school.
