Ok brother,
I’ll bite, simply because I feel bad that you asked a
legitimate question, and you are getting 90% untrue and inaccurate answers from
the majority of people who really don’t know what they are talking about (sorry
fellas, but calling it as I know it to be true). The first thing you need to do to find solid
information about sports betting (betting, or about the bettors) is to not
simply post it as a question on a forum like this. 98% of the subscribers to
this forum will be amatuers, nothing wrong with that, but you will rarely get
good information about anything sports betting if you simply post a thread and
open it up. There are a few very sharp
people on this forum, but you need to sit back and watch and listen to figure
out who they are. In this case, you have
a gazillion people who tried everything their minds can conceive, still lose,
and naturally assume because they can’t do, no one can, and they naturally
voice that opinion. Understandable, but inaccurate.
There are many who handicap sports for a living. Some just getting by, some losing ground and
will be getting that 9 to 5 before much longer, and some that make a God awful
lot of money. If, by chance, you are
asking because it is something that you would consider for your own vocation,
you would want to very carefully consider this and know what all it
entails. It is (using a poker phrase) is
a very, very tough way to make an easy living.
If you think for a moment it is about making a lot of money by hanging
out at the bar and calling in picks every now and then, you are way opposite of
reality. You can assume that vacations
will be far and few between. If you like
interpersonal interaction and co-existence, get a dog, and plan on one night
stands as opposed to a ‘real relationship’ Any woman willing to put up with you
working, researching, and observing sports 90 hours a week and is ok with it,
it is only because you are paying for her Benz, put a nice roof over her head,
and pay for her wants. This is a bad deal and for suckers, go with the one
night stands and a dog for companionship, you’ll be much happier. Get rid of your affinity for your favorite
teams and watching sports because you love it, now it is business and you watch
certain games for certain detailed points.
Most people would think this lifestyle described above would
sound horrible, but to the handicapper that thrives it sounds like total
freedom and perfection. If you are the
type that is annoyed by too much human interaction, it might be for you. If you are the type that screams at the TV,
paces the floor, or simply gets ‘tense’ when you have money riding on a game,
then it is probably not for you. If you
are exactly the same, or can become so in time, when you have a winning day, or
losing day, then it may be for you.
There is no place for any emotion in this game brother, none at
all. If you have extreme discipline financially,
it may be for you. Ok, I am
rambling. GL no matter why you asked,
and all the best.
