Want to come to Hawaii soon. Whats the scoop? Season what island ect. ?
Hey bud. I live on Oahu, born and raised here. Definitely would love to move to the North West, I love the cold/rainy weather.
As far as when/where to visit. Time of the year really doesn't matter since we don't have "seasons" here, it's just "tropical" weather all year long. In terms of which island to visit, each offers something a little different...depends on what you're interested in.
Hawaii (The "big island" as it's nicknamed here), would be good if you want to visit/learn about the volcanoes and formation history. There's parks and trails to check out. Black sand beach is pretty cool, I personally do believe the "curse" of not taking black sand home with you. Me and my sister did that when we were little kids, holy garbage coincidentally we got sick as darn when we got back to Oahu, wound up mailing the sand back. Green sand beach I've never been too but supposed to be cool to see.
Oahu, most developed of all the islands. Good beaches and nice hiking trails/views. If you ask the right people, they can tell you where to find waterfalls, that's always fun (this might be the one thing that depends on the time of the year). Waikiki is our "town life" and pretty fun.
Kauai, the most "country" of all the visitable islands if that makes any sense. Not much to do besides drive around and check out awesome scenery, very peaceful.
Maui, good mix of Kauai and Oahu. Been to Lahaina a few times when I coached girls basketball. They're known to have good artwork for sale on this island because of how often the dolphins come into view, lots of artists and painters tend to visit. Couple friends of mine who live in Washington State, whenever they visit Hawaii they always go to Maui.
Lanai, you can visit, but the island is so small and undeveloped there's nothing to do there. I think they might still have an interesting pineapple tour there lol, for whatever that's worth.
Niihau, still privately owned so can't visit.
Kahoolawe, yah...no longer being used for target practice by the military lol, that's all
