Hah.. I'm actually the reverse. I'm not that good at baseball but I sure do win more in baseball than I do in NFL. (NFL in my opinion is the hardest to win at b/c everybody is an "expert" and those lines are SUPER sharp) For the whole week, I'll build up my roll at everything else then once Sunday comes, I dump it on NFL and end up paying the bookie on Monday. Patience bro. Either you gotta bet less games or just quit all together and stick to what you're good at. If NFL is your thing, increase your bet size and don't bet baseball. If you get the itch during the week to bet, just bet a small amount on baseball. No need to empty the bankroll on some meaningless Wednesday night baseball game... BOL to you and your future wagers...

By the time you have any amount of data built up in the NFL the season is over.

Damn this a great conversation. I agree with you Dave. I just started betting baseball about 2 months ago. I tend to pick 1 series out of the week and lay big chalk with that team 3 games at least . I lean toward the favorite and ML just to insure my bet.

Correct. And if you were betting the -400 ML Astros a couple of days ago...you were on the _wrong__ side of the bet because of what you just said. All it would have taken is a flukey HR for Detroit to win.
If you are betting -200 and higher ML's and not getting blowouts you are getting screwed.

It's not a complete mismatch tho.
Oakland beat Baltimore by a TOTAL of 6 runs in their prior 4 meetings. Their last meeting is when Oakland is a better team than earlier in the year only beat Balt by 1 run. That's not dominance in anyone's book.

margin for error in baseball is the worst. basketball and football there is much less chance to recover from a fluke pick six or a fluke 3 pointer. basketball is by far the best since it is the msot consistent. over 100 possesions, less chance for variance, just bad capping or natural random performances. baseball just takes one swing , one bad pitch, and thats the ballgame

baseball is never safe.. nine times out of ten the team that goes up first is most likely going to win, unless it's a favorite of -200 or more that's down they could possibly come back. Live betting them is even a better option for that plus money . Also if you wanna coin flip, you can play 1st inning no runs with 2 aces pitching and no runs is juiced at -170 and but then there will be a hr sometimes smh
the way bookmakers set up these odds is ridiculous. the dodgers and yankees were both heavy favorites and dropped 2 games. dodgers dropped to reds and yankees dropped to twins.. some of these pitchers are getting way too much credit. you have to ask yourself if some of these pitchers are actually worth the juice.. on top of that, bullpens can make or break your bet.. in general, just stay off games that consists of bad teams
an alternative to betting baseball is the total team runs.. there's always value in those when the opponent has a crap pitcher. i thought i was the only one that felt this way about baseball, but it's nice to see other ppls opinions.

I had Yanks in a 3 teamer. Baseball very unpredictable. I only parlay. To much action everyday to bet games straight.
