royals have a .281 team batting average, cubs have a .241 royals have struck out 259 times, cubs 451.royals have more runs, doubles, triples, OBP, slugging,  and are close in team HR. you can pitch around two guys. cant pitch around an entire lineup.

It is by no means comparable.  The Cubs' lineup is consumed with primarily inconsistency hitters.  Soler is a free swinger, Montero has some power but not a great hitter, Coghlan is hitting under .210, etc.  I feel like Addison Russell makes a bonehead play at 2B every game, he clearly is still trying to get accustomed over there.  This team is very talented, but very young.

royals have the third best team batting average against righties in all of baseball. cubs are 26th. the cubs strike out 29% of their ab against right handed pitchers. the royals put the ball in play and arrieta's BABIP is .307.

one final thought, this game should be fairly close. in the 7th inning or later, who do you trust? i dont care about line movement in this game. you need to manufacture 1 run and not allow the other team to score. who do you trust? it's a pretty easy answer.

You guys are all tweaking. This is a straight KC thread lol

KC is definitely the better team. No doubt about it. But you all need to chill! They are good, but still very very young and inexperienced. 1 crazy playoff run doesn't make you world beaters all of a sudden.  It's a long season with way too many games still to be played. Let's enjoy these two young and exciting teams.

And to say the Cubs lineup is not comparable to the Royals is laughable. LAUGHABLE!!

The Royals bullpen and defense is what sets them apart from 90% of the league. Not their hitting.

Look at the numbers its not comparable.  Also, one of the best hitters in the KC lineup, Morales, is not even in the lineup.

the cubs have 1 player who would definitely start on the royals, bryant. rizzo is a toss up with hosmer. again, 1 PLAYER THAT WOULD START ON THE ROYALS!

Moose is a phucking beast at third though, way better defensively than Bryant.  Moose has also improved tremendously as a complete hitter as he is spraying the ball to all fields.  It would be tough for me to put Bryant at third over Moose regardless of that bat.  I think Bryant's future could be in left actually.

i don't disagree with that but with all the hype bryant has behind him you'd have a hard time arguing with clowns like underdog. gotta give him 1

The Cubs pen is full of Gerry's Kid's. Very nice play. Let's thanks Fowler who went 0-5 and dropped that fly ball. Great call again.

What do you know? The Royals and Cubs were neck and neck in game 1 until the Cubs bullpen blew the lead.

Game 2? The AMAZING Royals offense could only muster up 1 run against Wada.

I'm sure that Kansas City sun is blinding, but from my perspective it looks exactly how I called it. But hey, thats none of my business.
