I haven't
encountered much in the way of trolls or haters during this 15-7
stretch. Not that I expected as much, but this goes to show that streaks
like the one I hit last week are not sustainable. Going 5-0 yesterday doesn't make me any better than I was last week when I went 0-5 (4/21).
The results on those particular days, good and bad, were single day
events and they even out and converge to your actual performance (in
terms of return on risk) if you're consistent in your approach (given
your approach is fundamentally sound). I fully expect to encounter
another swing and miss day (i.e., 0 for X) if I play games every day. It
will happen. You just can't let those days interfere with your game
plan, just like you shouldn't go crazy and throw money at games you
wouldn't normally wager on because you’re "hot" and can't miss. I am
still in the red for now, but there is plenty of season left to steer
this ship in the right direction. Lastly, I am going to sit back
on incorporating PODs (sizing differently). I will start highlighting
PODs again, but I will not size them at 1.50% of bankroll for now.

Might play: Phillies (Buchanan) F5 +168 --- Buchanan has struggled so far this season, but the Cardinals are sending a rookie out to make his MLB debut today. He has been mediocre in the minors. Def a notable pitching advantage here for the Phillies. The only question is whether the Phillies can score runs.

Thursday's Card 907 Los Angeles Angels (G. Richards) FG, +101 --- Risk 1.00% of Bankroll (5dimes)
911 Chicago White Sox (C. Sale) -1 RL, -126 --- Risk 1.00% of Bankroll (5dimes)

Tim Cooney is a solid prospect man. Threw a one hitter in minors and has respectable numbers. Aren't you a Cards fan? This game is a test to see if he stays in the rotation or not. Versus the Phillies he has a very good shot imo. Buchanan oth, guy has a 1.77 whip. 12 BBs to11 Ks. 8 ERs in 10.2 IP on the road. The Cards bats are hot. I know -180 is expensive. But its Cards or nothing here for me. GL to what you play today

The trolls have gravitated back to my thread although I don't know why, attacking a 9-1 last 10 record. I guess they just need someone to take a stab at. Anyway, BOL today

Of course I follow my Cardinals and the minor league prospects! This is a fill-in start. he is not pitching to stick in the rotation. Once either (i) Garcia is ready, (ii) Marco Gonzalez is back, or (iii) they acquire someone he will be out. I look forward to seeing how he does and could see him having a role on this team in the near future. I would probably call him an intriguing prospect as opposed to a solid one. He has above-average control, but lacks much in the way of meaningful velocity (works in upper-80s I believe). Doesnt mean he can't have success though. If his command is off at all, I suspect he will be hit hard by MLB lineups. You can get away with mistake pitches much more often in the MiLB level.
I think you are really discounting Buchanan here. He had a respectable season last year and pitched well against STL in both of his starts. He is not a 1.77 WHIP pitcher. He had two bad starts to begin the season. All pitcher encounter bad starts. Buchanan has demonstrated an ability to get big league hitters out over 20+ starts, while Cooney has not. A few bad starts isn't enough for me to write-up my thoughts on Buchanan, especially since his last two starts were steps in the right direction.
I will be rooting for my Cardinals today as a fan, but -180 for a guy making his big league debut is a bit off. Besides, my play would be first 5 innings. haven't executed yet.

I too am taking the Phillies as an early game dog. Philly hits .291 off lefties in their last 7 and yes, Buchanan played great in 2 games vs the Cards last season only giving up 3 runs on 195 pitches with only 2 guys hitting above .200 against him.
Great shot on some plus money here. I dig the over too.

Although I don't agree about Buchanan, as I think he is terrible. Very solid point about Cooney. I looked into it more and he does have some issues. Like you said FB doesn't have much velocity, also gave up 1.20 HR/9 in the minors so that's an issue. Saw that the Phillies have actually hit lefty's .291 over their last 7 games.
Actually decided to go with the Phillies TT ov3 for this game as I think they score no less than 3 and I don't trust Buchanan. BOL today sir

You too man. I decided to layoff the side and play the over F5 myself.
Also, I just want to be clear haha... I definitely don't think Buchanan is great. I see him as a legitimate back of the rotation starter though. The kind of guy who can give you 5-6 innings more often than not with an ERA in the low-to-mid 4s.
Let's go runs!
