I'm a little curious why we are backing an away team going for the sweep here against a team as good as the Reds. But someone asked me the other day if I would jump off bridge if everybody was doing it and I replied, "as long as Bodio is!"
Yeah, not a good pick. I didn't expect Hudson to implode the way he did in the 1st. 0-1 so far

I'll provide some analysis for this one. Last MLB play for the day.
I know White Sox are on a 7 game losing streak, but I like them to snap it tonight. First of all, these 2 pitchers have faced off against one another already this season. Floyd had his best outing of the season against the Rays, throwing 8 innings and allowing 4 hits, 0 ER's and 8 K's to only 1 BB. Niemann had his worst outing against the Sox, pitching 2.2 innings, allowing 5 hits, 2 HR's, and 3 ER's. He had 1 K and 2 BB's in that one. For a Sox lineup that is 'cold' right now, Niemann could be it's "DayQuil". I also like that Floyd is coming off a poor outing, thus this provides a good 'bounce back' spot for him.
Looking at advanced stats, Floyd has a FIP of 4.11 (#72 in majors) and an xFIP of 3.37 (#32). Compare that to Niemann's FIP of 5.74 and xFIP of 4.22. In addition Floyd has a K/BB ratio of 3.20 compared to Niemann's 2.75. Either way we look at this, Floyd is a better pitcher.
Rays are 2-8 in Niemann's last 10 starts while the Sox are 11-4 in Floyd's last 15 after scoring 2 or less runs. I do expect Sox to rebound in this one and snap their losing streak.
Good luck!

Bounce back pitcher? What about King Felix? Last outing 5IP only 90 pitches.(sure he had only 2ER but that pitch count is low..looking to see a fresh arm?)...but I took Oak because the M's bullpen and lack of runs for the poor guy.

Thinking about this some more, this was a TOTAL mistake on my part. Great point 5t4.... Why did I back an average team going for a road sweep of a 'playoff' squad? I felt Hudson was the better pitcher and obviously Zona bats have been a bit hotter than Reds' lately. Still, thinking about this some more, I'm actually pretty upset I made this play.
This was a flat-out MISTAKE! Can't dwell on it and need to move on. But your post is absolutely correct! I should not have played Zona today...need to learn from this in the future!
thanks for pointing this out and making me think about this....Appreciate it!

Based on your logic, I would argue that Denver dominated Okie City in certain 'stretches' last night as well :)
I honestly don't know how Leake could even show up in public, after trying to steak $60 worth of T-Shirts from Macy's. What a ridiculous move. The guy must get-off on stealing stuff
I understand your point, but I was mainly thinking about game 1 of the series when I bet on the Mavs and as i was watching through the end of the third quarter and most of the fourth quarter it looked like Portland was the better team and was pushing the Mavs around a little bit. It looked for a while in that game that I was going to lose my wager and I think the Mavs only won because they were at home(Portland went ice cold at the end and I don't think that will happen on their homecourt). I had the Nuggets last night and I never felt like they were going to come back and win(though it would have been nice if they had at least covered the second half though). As far as Leake is concerned I read that a fan had a sign that they gave him the bunt sign not the steal sign, pretty funny.

Another reason you are the best. You don't make excuses and even admit to being wrong sometimes (I think you were just tired). A lot of us here, myself included, have learned more from you than we can ever repay. I'm glad I could help, albeit a little late. I'm pretty sure that is what these forums are for. As always, I thank you for the time you put in for us.
