I left something important out of the write-up. Both teams return the bulk of their offense from 2024. Against right-handed pitching, the Red Sox ranked 6th in MLB while the Rangers ranked 26th. Check out this discrepancy:

Sox hit: 254 AVG, 319 OBP, 428 SLG, 747 OPS

Tex hit: 238 AVG, 304 OBP, 379 SLG, 683 OPS

@soup-can - Yeah, I'm aware of that soup. It was his final Spring start and he was fine-tuning some things. Afterward, he said he felt great and was ready for today. So, not putting too much weight into it. Cheers bud peace_5

Rafael Devers is 0-4 with 4 K’s. He’s 0-8 with 7 K’s on the season. I don’t think he likes the DH role. paint_help

game reports say Houck best pitch sweeper was down 5 inches and the splitter wasn't effective either.  Leiter was slightly better, non consistent secondary's, his fastball dropped an inch.

both pitchers will progress after a few starts is all you can hope for  thebaseball
