he wont be called up within the next week. He leads the team in errors. horrible fielding % . The jays already said they need to him improve his defensive game before hes in the show

He will almost certainly be called up when the super 2 rule pass's which is june 6th. His defence has been alot better of late and most of those errors where from the first few weeks of the season.

marcus thames and david cooper had simiar numbers in AAA, but when called up they werent ready. Las vegas is a huge hitters park, so the numbers are inflated

AA said no more than a week ago they arent going to rush him up. Believe what you want but I dont see him with the big club until mid july

Travis Snider hasn't lived up to the hype yet either.

Marcus Thames?
No, none of them have the average+power and OPS that Lawrie does. Las Vegas is a great park for homers but that doesnt explain his league leading hit totals or total base totals. The has also been taking walks like a machine lately.
Wanna put a nice little wager on him getting called up in the next week or so?

agreed. Snider needs to show more consistancy. That being said I think this kid is the real deal. Hes shown flashes of what he can do, as he was the hottest hitter on the team last year before his injury.

He'll get called up soon, they were just making up excuses to hold him back but they are just tying to save service time.
Reports are his defense is adequate enough now, most of his errors came in the first ten games of the season or so. He's committed a lot less errors lately. (not that "errors" are a good way to judge defense anyways)

AA also said that they asked him to improve his plate disclipline a few weeks ago and hes done a excellant job in this the past 15 games. He said that Lawrie right now is really playing well and forcing there hand. I will be utterly shocked if he isnt up within the next ten 10. They continue to talk about him and put up stat lines on the broadcasts. Trust me, this kid is getting called up VERY soon.

jays won't call him up now because they don't want him in the super cateorgy FA. If they wait after a few more weeks (the date is sketchy), they can avoid arbitration for another year on the kid.
i know he's dying to come up but AA isn't rushing anything

That's the reason they are holding him back, just thought the first week of June was when they could bring him up.

Before even looking up Lawrie, it came to my mind this has to be in the PCL.
PCL is a joke for looking at offensive numbers. There are games that are 14-12 final scores on a regular basis. Its an all offensive league and the numbers aren't as meaningful if they were put up in other leagues in the minors.
That is not to take away from Lawrie but its important to understand PCL inflates offensive numbers.

Well how come neither Ackley or Moustakas are ripping up the league then?

Buck told Ryan Adams the same thing. Told him he didnt care if he was hitting .500 in the minors if he couldn't fix his defense.
Granted he got called up but that was because of injuries that forced the O's hand.

No, none of them have the average+power and OPS that Lawrie does. Las Vegas is a great park for homers but that doesnt explain his league leading hit totals or total base totals. The has also been taking walks like a machine lately.
Wanna put a nice little wager on him getting called up in the next week or so?
sorry eric thames. my bad.
Actually LV is a park for average. it a very very fast field. Cooper is hitting .393 and thames .342 There are 11 guys on the team hitting above .290
Lawrie: OPS 1.090 Cooper: OPS 1.040 Thames 1.019 very comparable
No im not placing a wager with some random guy on the internet over something as random as this. Half the ppl on here wouldnt ever pay up anyways. but its very unlikely hes called up
