Bullpen has been great other than Simon.




How he is still the closer I have no idea

I believe the bullpen, as a whole, has now given up 13 runs in about 15 innings since Showalter started managing. It's a group effort.

as an orioles fan it just sickens me to watch the bullpen do this night in and night out, how dishearting can it be to the young guys who are finally giving these quality starts only to have the guys behind em screw it up hopefully the O's can still win this but with there bullpen its hard to say to soxs wont score again or that they wont be at a huge disadvantage in extras

If I was Buck...I would send these dickbags down to the minors and continue to call up the youngsters until I found someone that had the balls to step up and pitch.

Don't get me started. I don't understand. That is a spot for Kerry Wood or ANYONE else. Hell...that's when you would bring in Park if he were still there. What a waste. He only threw 1 pitch though right? We got lucky.

However...they've finally shown heart with a few walkoffs. They could win this but it would be better to do it now than later.

Yeah just 1 pitch but mariano isnt 28 anymore. Girardi doesnt understand that. The more days off the better

Slappin...Absolutely the reason I think Balt is statistically one of the worst teams to bet on. I usually feel good if I have a bet against them and the game is tied in the 6th.

Gonzalez should have his closing job back asap. Looks like the O's wont have the number 1 pick in the draft after all. I would hate to be a contender playing the orioles down the stretch!

Take out the one Angels game when they allowed 6 runs in 3 innings and as team they have let up 7 runs in 14,1 innings.

You take out Simon and its 4 runs in 10.1 innings.

Also its no coincidence that they Orioles finally have their whole team back and they have started playing like I said/expected they would this year.

That's the thing with you man. You CAN'T take out that 1 game against the Angels. You CAN'T take out the fact that Simon gave up a bunch of runs. You have to take it as a whole and not pick and choose his good and bad spots.

Well why dont you look at the Angels game I am talking about. Or is that too simple to do?

The Orioles were up 9-1 in the 7th inning. Pitchers were brought in that would not normally be pitching in a close game. And given the large lead its very possible the pitchers were very lax and pitching to contact to get the game over with.

Pitching in a 9-1 game is different for a pitcher compared to pitching in a 2-1 game or 2-2 game.

Also Buck is giving Simon a tryout. He said he wasnt happy with how he has pitched but woudl use him to see what he could do.

He most likely will put Gonzo back in the closers role after todays game and the games from before.
