A year off after Tommy John surgery and Buehler does not have the 'punch out pitch.'
Buehler did not record one single strikeout against the Padres. That was an important game and supposedly he is "peaking" at the right time???
He has good stuff....to a point. But he can't get the "out pitch." He is off. Ok, the media was saying he "looked good." ..He would have to have a complete turnaround in a huge game on the road against a good run scoring club. Buehler ONLY pitches well at home with an xFIP (ERA adjusted for an average fielding support) on the road of 5.80. That means potentially the Mets reach at least 5 runs through 6 innings........
Buehler over 2.5 earned runs
Buehler under 3.5 strikeouts
Mets win
Postgame caution: The media will do their "job" and hype the Mets, should they repeat what they did in game 2, but the quick turnaround game will help the LAD, so I do see this series tied at 2-2 going into the weekend. I think this first game in NY is a pure exhibition of Mets' hitting, a repeat of game 2.
GL either way

Can't see the Dodgers doing another bullpen game after the other day, and after today......would be a smart move to start Yamamoto.....
LAD have had a tendency to go all in on starters that even a fan can see is not good---Kershaw had been bad, bad for years in the postseason, and Dodgers left Buehler in after giving up a grand slam to the Padres. He did get up to the 13 outs they asked him for, but always in trouble. Any patience from the Mets, and they ought to plate a crooked number by the 5th.
Can't see Buehler on a short leash--they want 13 outs from him--esp if they have a SCHEDULED bullpen game following today's debacle...although I think they will ask Yamamato to step up earlier to bail them out down 1-2

Adding 1st 5 over 4
Mets TT O 3.5
Does Yamamoto even start the next game?

Yeah he does have an 8% walk rate, which is kind of high. I don't expect him to make it past 13 batters, so that number is kind of on the edge for my liking, but GL w/ it, if that's your play.
