-Cincinnati has won five straight and 14 out of the last 19
-Bailey seems to be finding his form. Over his last two starts, the right-hander has posted a 0.53 ERA (one earned run in 17 innings pitched).
-Cincinnati has given Chicago fits over the past two seasons, having won 23 of 31 meetings
-Bailey is 8-3 with a 4.32 ERA in 15 career starts against Chicago, but before dropping a 7-3 decision at Wrigley Field on June 24, he had gone 7-0 with a 3.08 ERA in his previous 10 starts against the Cubs, all Reds wins.
-Cincinnati's offense has been humming to the tune of a .316 team batting average and 5.4 runs per game.
-Kyle Hendricks, who will make his Major League debut, on Thursday.
-"I usually throw mostly two-seams, but with [Iowa pitching coach Bruce Walton] down there, I've been focusing on my four seams to throw with more velocity to guys and it keeps them even more off balance on both sides of the plate," Hendricks said. "It's been a real key for me this year and I'm going to stick with it."

find a compelling reason not to bet on Bailey, who is going up against:
(i) a guy making his MLB Debut
(ii) a team that is 3rd worst in all of MLB vs. righties
(iii) a team that is last in the NL Central and19-32 on the road IMO, you need far better than +135 to take this risk. No chance the Cubs win this game more than 43% of the time... even with some key bats out of the Reds' lineup

Here is a better path of reasoning...

cubs at the end of the day rolled out a first time starter in wada the other night and got robbed of a win. there are avoiding a sweep and cincy has a series at home coming up vs Pittsburgh so if they lost this game big whoop. teams heading into all star game would like a win at home before they go off at mid season. cubs get to go home after this series to play Atlanta at home. they will head home with a V and cincy will be happy with a 3-1 series win with a divisional opp coming up.
