Chicago Cubs vs Cincinnati Reds, 9/2/23

Took my first posted L yesterday. Apologies to those that tailed. Zach Davies did something he has rarely done lately, he pitched well. That's baseball for ya.

Posted record stands at 3-1. Let's make it 4-1 with the Chicago Cubs today at -113.

It's ironic that I have more time during the work week for write-ups than I do on the weekends. I've analyzed this game like I cap all my plays. However, I apologize - don't have the time today to put it in writing. I coach my kids Fall ball little league team and we have practice in a bit. Then my wife made plans for us to attend a friend's BBQ. So, I got to get going soon.

I can tell you that my personal analysis gives the Cubs a significant statistical edge. Suddenly, they're just 3.5 games back for the division title. If they can close that gap, they will see Milwaukee at the end of the month in what could be a series for the Central crown. Motivation is huge and they have that now. The Reds are motivated too to grab a wildcard, but in my opinion they're a year or two away. The team is loaded with rookies and they're all hitting the wall...  it's clear if you look at their August numbers.

Give me the Cubs at -113 for 10 units.

3) stop the color commentary. It screams amateur and lack of confidence in picking winners. 

4).writeups are for those who think they are handicappers. There are NO pro handicappers here. Every game can have a solid writeup to back either side so don't fall into the trap.

5) just be simple and post your plays, that's it. No sideshows. 

6) when "hot" act like it's normal. ANYONE and EVERYONE can rattle of 6-7-8-9-10 Wins in a row. Everyone, so act like it's not a rarity, and when not hot, keep the same approach and mentality and back off some until heat up again. It's all streaks.

Love the analysis. Just sacares me that alzolay is used up and that loss last night was killer. Being from chicago ill always be skeptical! Lol. Reds are in a funk as well. I think youre right on brother!

Watching that collapse on my phone was painful. Baseball can be so cruel. 

I’m not one to chase. So I accept the bad beat and will take a few days off to clear my head. I’ll be back next week. Gonna go drink this one off.
