the regular sty thread is up in the NBA forum. we will move over here shortly....but i wanted to repost this as i think the work may be beneficial to some of you. make your own analysis and a play if you like....i will play some aspect of this game but havent decided yet...
cleveland at baltimore... bud norris squares off against T J House....a rookie who has thrown ONE inning in the big leagues getting a 3 up 3 down against oakland on 3 ground balls...
let me deal with house first...i have followed his minor league career with a degree of interest as he attended picayune high school.....only about 10 miles north of where the real sty is located...he is 24 and was drafted out of high school, and has spent 6 years toiling in the minors...only one winning season, 2012 at double A. his career record is 38-51 in the minors and his career ERA is 3.90.. a 12 mph breeze will be blowing from left to right across camden yards..
umpire info.....marty foster will be calling balls and strikes. he is 5-4 O/U with an avg of 8.2 runs scored in his games behind the plate....baltimore is a -145 favorite. foster has called one game in this range on a home favorite and the favorite is 1-0. foster's record is 6-3 in favor of the home team.
enter bud norris, who has pitched very well in may. 3 of his 4 may starts he has allowed 1-4-2-1 earned runs....he is 2-4 with a 3.58 ERA, BUT at home this season pitching in camden yards, his ERA drops to 2.25 and he is 1-1 with a 239 BAA ...cleveland hasnt had a lot of success against norris since he came over from the astros... as they hit only 217 vs norris...
FG line baltimore -145 and total is 9 F 5 the line is also -145 and a total of 5...F 5 run line is a more $$$ manageable -1/2 -105...
i will have a play on this game, but i have to digest these numbers a bit more...
