it doesn't matter if he hated baseball and got disgusted seeing a mainly white person oriented sport...... The fact is the sports world wants Los Angeles to get over it easier, and they will not only have the lakers win, but the Dodgers too.. don't you get it yet.....

Whole world is grieving w/ Kobe...China, Phili, thousands of communities, billions of fans worldwide...what would LA Dodgers winning have to do with fixing the world?
Just saying peeps are really reaching when they use Kobe to analyze an outcome of this series. SMh.

The Rays are an incredibly boring team... Nobody wants to see them beat the happy go lucky dodgers... Plus the mlb needs a big market team to win, to get interest back in the sport

Dodgers already have a high market ceiling...just having them in the World Series raises the MLB market a little more....merchandise sales, viewers, etc.
Imagine if TB wins? TB has low fan base, city is extremely boring and very senior friendly. Imagine merchandise sale for next season? Fan attendance? Viewer ratings, real estate relocation??? City will bring in tons of potential $$$.
Therefore, I think TB has a higher market ceiling than LA right now. MLB Executives are prob rooting for TB to win...just my 2 cents.

The dodgers have too many likeable players on the team, and have done there fair sure of losing.. They will win 100%.. Ya'll are out of your minds

The thread title, and OP's first post provide for a perfect platform to discuss this series.
But only on a Covers forum we find ZERO handicapping and mindless drivel.

Sac- I posted before we knew. That was Sunday night. Should be a good game. You can trash regular season stats vs Postseason stats. For example, Arozarena was nowhere and now a serious threat. Altuve had 5 HR and 18 RBI reg. And 5 HR and 11 RBI during postseason. No need to keep going. These two teams are on a level playing field IMO.

Well, fwiw, fangraphs zips gives the Dodgers a 53% chance. That's implied odds of -113, and 47% is +113 for the Rays.
They're not complete idiots over there, leading the way in analytics since it was born.
Clearly, the books know which side to expect money from. Dodger $ is like Yankee $, like Cowboys $, Syracuse $ etc...
And, possibly, Kobe Bryant mourner's $ ?
I'm taking the Rays +180 for the Series on pure principle of math. Also taking the Rays +157 for game 1.
All though the Rays lineup has a poor history vs Kershaw, they hammered curveballs this year, and Kershaw lives with his curve. He is also a different guy in the post season.
Glassnow on 5 days rest is great. He hasn't been the same guy as before the injury, but when is the last time(if ever) could you get him at these odds?
Finally, when it comes down to managing, do I even have to ask? Dave Roberts could fuck up a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Meanwhile Kevin Cash has been one of the most detail oriented managers in history, making snap decisions nearly between every hitter.
If I go 1-1 I'm cool with it. Enjoy the series guys

So either LA or Tampa, will have 2 teams with a Championship won this year, that's an interesting stat.
The pressure is on the Dodgers, 3rd WS in 4 years, but Tampa has to be worst team they could face?! Even if the Rays don't have the big bats, since the playoffs started they got key big hits from mostly everybody, 2 or 3 run HRs. So lets say LA has the better hitting, at least on paper, when it comes to pitching imo Tampa has the edge, if slightly starter wise, surely their bullpen is superior to the Dodgers.
Whenever it comes to the playoffs, I always have to remind myself: great pitching > great hittng.
We already saw that from the Rays, against the Yankees and the Astros, IF their pitching is ON, they will really difficult to beat. Also, as sac mentioned above, Cash is a superior manager, I think he already proved it this season.

I’m taking TB ML, U7.5 Neither team has started a series putting up much runs. I’m also thinking Bellinger’s shoulder may prove to be a bigger deal than he’s letting on. Also thinking the Dodgers don’t put up a ton of runs after that intense Braves’ series. Lastly, Glasnow Ks. The Dodgers strikeout some. If they connect, it’ll be HRs. And for some reason, they like to leave Kershaw in too long , so I’m betting that will be the difference.
