I’m about to start it my gambling addiction b/c I’ve seen it work for my sisters alcoholism.
Literally just started taking it 2 weeks ago (a generic form of semaglutide that I had my doc call in to a compounding pharmacy for me so it wasn't so expensive). I have about 30-40 pounds to lose. They told me to take 50mL once a week. I was a little nervous so I only took half that (25mL) for my first dose, and I am glad I did, because I don't even wanna drive by a grocery store much less eat normally. It truly kills your appetite, then when you are hungry, you have a small portion and you really cannot eat anymore. You don't even want to. During the first week I made small plates of stuff and still ended up saving or throwing food out. Now I am getting more used to eating on it and just make extra small portions so I don't waste food.
I imagine most people like to eat more of stuff that they love, for me that is meatballs and chicken cutlets and cannolis, but even that stuff, which I adore, I cannot eat much of anymore.
I am convinced after only taking this stuff for 2 weeks that we have been been taught to eat way too much all along. It is kinda nice to just eat until the very second you are full and then stop. No more "eating for the sport of it". Also haven't had any adverse side effects yet. Slight discomfort in stomach for first few days, but all that has subsided.
As far as gambling goes, I truly had no idea people even took this stuff for addiction issues, but for some reason since I started taking it I am on a crazy heater. 21-6 last 27 bets. Obviously no correlation....... just sayin'
As far as a weight loss drug, and/or retraining your body to eat smaller portions from a lifestyle perspective......I recommend it so far. I would doubt it can curb your desire to make terrible bets like it curbs your appetite, but anything is possible.

Thanks JDD appreciate your feedback! This drug has literally saved my sisters life and I have seen it first hand. She has no desire to drink alcohol anymore. Truly amazing! That’s when I thought of it working possibly for gambling addiction vs having brain surgery. I have 2 neighbors currently on it and they have lost a tremendous amount of weight in the first 60 days.

@Natty68
No. Entirely different medicines.
this stuff mimics glucagon, and makes you feel full longer

does not work for gambling or alcoholism . Whomever told you that should seek evaluation.
Also, take Mounjaro for appetite suppression....much better than Ozempic and so much better upside. Lost 18lbs thus far and have taken both. I had that belly in my profile pic before lol.
PS - I still gamble on both lol
