Hi Donnie

Congrats on a successful 2012. Would like to tail for the season am as green as they come when it comes to MLB (hoops is my game of choice)

My book has SEA -1.5 +140 wondering if I need to get exact line as you to follow ?

 

any help appreciated

Say you bet 1 dollar a game, bet to win 1 dollar on seattle ml -155 or whatever your book gives you, and bet 1 to win 1.40 on the -1.5.

That way you're getting about a -107 price on the -1 run line.

well a lot of books have the option to bet -1, but even in these books it's still better to split your bet and create your own. yes your are placing two bets, to win 1x on the ml, and bet 1x on the -1.5 rl.

nice on the boston game as it sits right now at under 9 -110

eh, i said that wrong. i guess i would say you should bet .5x on the -1.5 rl and to win .5x on the ml. sorry about that.

If you are looking to win say $100, the put $43.20 on the m/l to win $40 and $40 on r/l to win 60. So if they win by 1 run you win the m/l but lose the r/l , so you push.

eh had something typed out, i'll try my best to recreate it. dunno what's up with covers right now.

my unit is 300. i bet 300 on dogs, and to win 300 on faves.

i bet 150 to win 225 on the mets -1.5 at +150. i also bet 160.50 to win 150 on the mets at -107. so my bet is 310.50 to win 375 at -1.

if i bet a -150 team on the ml, and say the -1.5 rl was +140. i would bet 225 to win 150, and 150 to win 210 on the rl, giving me 375 to win 360 (about -104 on a -1 rl). 

i don't mind risking the extra 75 on top of my normal unit (25%) considering if i bet a -120 under, i'm risking 360. it's all gravy to me, and i'm just keeping track of 1u at a time to keep things simple.

not at all. most shops allow 10 cent lines on baseball odds these days, but a lot are on the 20 cent line system for totals and rls. I'd suggest getting a 5dimes account (or better yet, pinnacle if you're non us), otherwise you may get 3-5 cents worse lines than me on some plays even if you bet at the exact same time.
