Fading Bannister

I think tonight night be a ngood spot to fade bannister. he has not really impressed me this year. His numbers are not horrible 1-2 5.03, but if you have watched this guy pitch at all he seems to be struggling.

I understand westbrook hasnt show much better 0-2 5.74. But I like the tribe here.

thoughts? opinions?

I am with you...Westbrook is better than he has shown, he can keep these weak bats down.

Short line on the home squad....

KC - 132 runs

Cleveland - 106 runs

I guess there is an argument as to who has the weak bats.

And I don't like Bannister, but he's had good numbers against Detrot back to back, TB, and MN......all very good offensive teams.  He has had two turds against the Chisox and Toronto...I'll give you that.

Your assumption would be that I dont think that Cleveland has weak bats....interesting assumption. Incorrect, but I will give you interesting.

Actually, not an assumption at all.  You said KC had weak bats. Cleveland has scored 26 LESS runs this year.  How would you classify their bats?

I would classify theirs as arguably weaker than KCs.

You arent going to ask me my personal opinion about everything, are you? I may not have time....

Bannister has 4 out of 6 quality starts this year and 2 out of 2 at home. Cleveland hitters are just 22 for 95 in their careers against Bannister for a .232 average.

Westbrook has been battling back problems and almost got scratched from this start. In his L3 starts, he has lasted just 14 2/3 innings and allowed 17 hits 10 runs and 7 walks. His road ERA is 6.53.

Kc is hitting 29 points higher as a team (.273 vs. .244), has a slugging percentage that is 59 points higher and an OPS that is 133 points higher.

What I never have understood, GH, is how the books are so damn smart that they offer these "sucker" lines on games like this, but they don't do it for every game.  If I were that smart, I'd exploit every game I could.  This must me the only one where they already know the outcome on today's card.

this would be a situational spot to actually play on bannister....only thing against him tonight is his start time is in the evening, can be very effective at home and really has had great success vs the tribe, think he puts his last start behind him but i cant back the guy.

I'm not sure if I see it as a sucker line. It matters how you look at it. KC is 3-10 their last 13 and are 11-21 overall. Cleveland has the better overall record at 11-18 and are 3-9 their L12. Both pitchers have ERA's in the 5's. On paper, it's two evenly matched teams so I am not sure the books needed to make the line much higher. Now I think the records are a bit skewed as KC has played 20 of their 32 games on the road and jsut came in off an 11 game road trip.

I also really like Cliff Lee tonight. guys first 2 performances impressed me this year.

Baltimore has not impressed me this year

Suckers line? Nah, that is anyone who took Toronto last night or tonight. Those people are suckers who just dont get it.

This is just an interesting line to me. Awful short. Now that everyone is placing their wagers, it gets pushed north almost to 120, but I dont think it will ever hit 120. Why not open it higher?

Every once in a while a line opens and gets bet one way or another. 

Twins line has been bet up 20 cents but I don't see you saying anything about that.  Why does this game intrigue you so much?

Why aren't you commenting about all the other lines that have changed?  I just don't understand the inconsistency if this is your approach.

By the way, that's the reason I bet it.....because I thought it was value at where it was.  Feel free to try and figure out what Vegas is "trying to do to you."  I'll stick with betting lines that I think are incorrect.
