I did NOT contend the guy was safe; I simply stated that the home plate umpire had a far better angle on the play, and was far closer to it, than any "reviewer" or Joe six-pack at home staring at a TV screen.

Penn and Teller did a show on "foul" language. Their point was there is no foul sounds-meaning no one says we ban a particular sound. A word is just a combination of sounds. So how can the word that is the sum of its parts be something that should be banned. I also agree with the Carlin philosophy. There are bad thoughts, bad ideas, bad actions, but there are no bad words. Does it seem absurd that poop is accepted but shit is not. They describe the same object. Why does one word get deemed inappropriate? Who are the censors that dictate whether one word is acceptable over another? People have to stop being programmed that a group of words is bad and instead look at the context in which the word is used. 

OK, how many of you guys that are all in favor of any type of language on this site would (or do) use all the same garbage in a conversation with your grandmother, mother, wife, and daughter present. Don't tell me "that's different" because it is not. If you won't use THAT language in THAT conversation, why offend others with it? A gambling forum excuses all restraints on common decency and courtesy?
