I'm sorry guys I really am. But if you're trying to get input.. I tend to fade the opinion of Covers. It's ran me into many jams and have lost a good chunk. Also, the write-ups given prior to the prediction are not very informative. Rarely the ERAs of the pitchers starting on the mound are given in the write-ups. That is very important information to give your readers it stops them from having to search for them on other sites. I have a list of suggestions...
I really enjoy the forums though. Great community!

I do my own capping, my own way. I'm very much a contrarian, I'll play +300 dogs, I don't need to follow anyone. I've only had 8 losing years in my life and none of those ever 'broke' me. That's 8 losing years out of 42 years that I've been 'dabbling' (45 if you count when I was doing sheets in high school) So yeah, the forums have great cappers but I'm not one to take, grab or steal any picks, don't need to, I will however take good intel anyday. Maybe I don't understand the question.

Thanks for the insight I'll pass anything about our staff write-ups along to our content team. However I'm just looking for insight on forum content at the moment.

Thanks! And no problem let me add some context. I'm not just researching people coming to the forums to tail picks but to also see if there are people coming here for other information that might lead to placing a bet.

I've noticed that as well. Why do you think that is? Is it so people can just scan their pick easier, or do posters just not think it's worth their time to include a write-up?

IMHO... I think people are hesitant to put themselves out there with extensive write-ups in the case that they are off base on a day or two. What comes after that is the problem. Relentless trolling and negative posts b/c people chose to “follow” the wrong capper on a particular day. Just isn’t worth it. I can tell you 120%, that is why I don’t post plays or write-ups, which I LOVE to do!!!
Thank you for all that you do with this site Colin. It is appreciated.
Everyone has a plan, until they get hit in the mouth.

Fair enough... so if you have an edge on a pick, and before you submit your pick you see a forum capper you trust side with you, does that help confirm your pick?

A welcoming community is one of our main focuses. We're always looking at ways to improve our efforts in achieving this. I would like to get to a place where we see more people returning with their own write-ups.

I love reading and writing writeups on games, especially football. But I always loved to read and write. I would read the back of the cereal box at breakfast type of kid. I don't think as many people, especially men, are like that any more, and some sports bettors are just dumb jocks that are past their prime and are hardly gonna start reading now.
One reason I don't do it often is because with the way sports betting had gone, it actually doesn't even matter half the time if you cap a game to the hilt and have all the good reasoning.
I remember posting a writeup and then the pick lost in the last minute and some twat started rubbing my nose in it that I had written all that just to lose anyway. And he was partially right.
I mean the same thing happened last weekend. I kinda had a feeling that we might get a close game in the NCAAF game in Dublin but when I looked at all the availabile info I felt Northwestern would lose by double digits. Not by 50 like the year before but the -11 i got was IMO a decent enough bet. And they were up 14-3 right away.
Vs a team that had no explosiveness last year and could only run, i thought there was little chance they don't get outscored the rest of the way. Only thing could hurt me would be turnovers, bad special teams, bonehead coaching moves, basically fluky stuff.
Well, we all know how that went. They fumbled at the end of a catch in the red zone. They ended up down 3 points at the half only to get gifted a double digit lead back.
And then Scott Frost happened. I mean I'll never understand how that onside kick call gets made by anyone who gets paid millions to make good coaching decisions. It was baffling in the extreme. Even if you had good special teams it's a dumb call, and they don't.
So it's like, why bother writing a super in depth analysis of a game when some overpaid dkhead of a coach can blow all your capping out the water with his own ego. Same with blown calls or non calls tho video review has somewhat changed that.
In general it seems more and more games come down to one turning point play or the last drive or last free throw so why write a novel about a friggin coin flip.

Definitely boost the confidence in my pick and vice versa. I’ve passed on my own picks when a couple cappers I follow are on the other side.
I don’ do write ups because there’s no in between. Your either an Einstein or an Idiot.
Believe the NUMBERS. Not what you THINK.

Forum content is absolutely an online gem! Good fellas, good cappers, just a great place to chat. Don't change anything! But, make an app.. it would do very well.
