cubs pen is not a good sign for under.

carp still not pitching good but cubs bottom of lineup is nothing but auto outs, the top and middle of lineup have something with their swing.

I didn't watch any of that series so you would know.

Cards pen was a mess in yesterday's affair with Houston. walk walk walk. Motte bailed them out.

Craig essentially ended Volstad's day with that basehit on pitch count I think.

Cubs went to extra 2 night a go, then last night maybe due to fatigue they gave up 5 spot at top 7 on a 0-0 game. thats why we didnt see cubs pen replacing volstad, even so lazy cards didnt use this opportunity and still swinging on volstad which obviously cant throw anymore strikes on that high PC.

True, but in a one run game a manager will always lean to performance rather than a pitch count.

Of course now it's a non issue - Volstad is done on well over his PC.

Bremly was just talking about the strain on the Cub pen as you mentioned.
