Must be some chemicals involved here that give extra energy or something to have 2 jobs fishing and then throw in some time to gamble,but he is Polish right,I believe they do not need sleep.

Sleep has been forbidden in Poland since Hitler overran them from the west and Stalin followed up from the east. Lots of drinking over there but no one is allowed to pass out.

Just a guess but they aimed a thousand Panzer tanks east and said "go"? Panzers versus horse mounted cavalry wasn't much of contest.

My second guess was they loaded a million soldiers in fake beer trucks (sort of like Trojan horses) and drove in with "FREE BEER" signs on the trucks. Polish troops of course dropped their weapons and ran toward the trucks.
