Smells fishy imo. Rays are downright horrible right now. King Felix on the mound and the Mariners are only -120? Seems like the typical mariners game when Felix pitches lights out but still lose due to no run support from their bats. Pass this game.

Several folks in this thread do not seem to understand how lines are made.

Oddsmakers, unlike many members of the public, do not just toss out numbers based on "Oh yeah, this guy is good and this other guy is not good." Rather, they use mathematics-based power rankings to form their numbers and allow the betting markets to adjust them accordingly.

Basic stuff here that anyone wagering on sports should know.

Jfen- public perception of the line is also taken into account. The opening line is not solely based on mathemtical formulae for the 2 teams playing... An adjustment is made before opening to get what oddsmakers believe will be an even amount of money on both sides.

its funny that when ever anyone varies their bet, people come in droves to burn him at the stake for not flat betting. I think you guys need to realize that some people sports bet not to strictly make money, but to have fun and make some occasionally big sweat plays for additional fun. Yes flat betting is the key to winning long term, but it is HELLA boring....
