Yeah, I think they Cubs should have stuck with their young talent instead of giving them up for just Garza. He is a number 3 at best. However, I do believe that getting rid of Rothschild is the best thing the Cubs could have done this offseason.

I take that back, Rothschild went to the Yanks on his own, good riddance. Why in the world would the Yanks want him? Awful move there. Once Hendry is gone though, then the Cubs might be good. Perhaps they can get Duncan or Hickey to be their pitching coach, now we're talking.

No way.  It's funny when the Cubs don't trade everyone complains that their talent never pans out.  Now they do and they should have stuck with it.  The only real loss in that trade was Archer and is ceiling is basically Garza, if that.  They got Arrcher in the DeRosa trade which everything thought was awful at the time.  And now they got Garza for at least 3 years at cheap $.  He just signed for 5.95m avoiding arb.  That is a fukkin steal.

Cubs today got OF Matt Sczur to forego football for baseball.  He is instantly better than any of the position prospects they gave up in the deal.

The Garza trade was hands down a great move by the Cubs.  I'm not saying it was terrible for Tampa.  They had a glut, wanting to save cash, will build for the future and they got what they could. 

I think Garza can be better than a '#3', but even at that, #3's in the prime ages of their career at reasonable salaries, don't just fall off trees here.  If they had wanted to sign a FA of his stature, they'd of had to pay probably double over the next 3 years.

this thread is a classic and i was searching for it.  OMG ive completed my Doctorate since I first posted in it.  But the best part is, we will all be long gone because the Cubs, Scrubs, people will still never have won aynthing,   god this is awesome

One day in Chicago 3 friends were walking down the street. Each one of them rooted for a different Baseball Team. One guy was a Cardinals fan, one a Sox fan, and the other a Cubs fan. As they were walking, they spotted a naked dead woman on the street. The Cardinals fan right away took off his Cardinals hat and put it over the woman left boob, the Sox fan followed by putting his hat over the woman right boob, and the Cubs fan put his hat over the woman box. When the police showed up the cop went over to the woman and lifted up the Cardinals hat and then put it back down. He then lifted up the Sox hat and put it back down. He then lift up the Cubs hat and put it back down, then lifted it up again and put it back down, then lifted it back up again and put it back down. The cop did this 8 times before the Cubs fan asked how come you keep lifting up my Cubs hat and keep putting it back down? The Cop answered: Usually when I look under a CUBS hat all I see is a ASSHOLE.

Tonight they gave up 7 unearned runs on 4 errors in a 7-5 loss.  

They are also 2nd in team batting average yet only 23rd in runs scored.
