75 million is crazy. You know what an ordinary punter would probably never even get that much on, it's all a publicity stunt IMO. They're not gonna give him 75 mil to ride off into the sunset with - there's gonna be more 'promotions' and 'big wins'. It encourages punters to bet more on futures and whatever else, dreaming of hitting it big. And of course, it's good for Mack's business.

It's all a scam. But that's not the worst part of it. The worst part was where the article said Carson Wentz is one of the top 3 base salaries in the NFL this year.

And how did Munson do at the end of the film?

Yes Bama lost but picking them to win the title hardly considered crazy.  If I remember correctly benglas cover the spread and almost won the superbowl.

This purely a hedge…He got folks to buy mattresses and other furniture at a significantly marked up price.   He has promised a full refund if the Astros win the World Series.   So if the Astros lose the World Series, he keeps all the incremental revenue and associated profits offset by the mostly 7 to 1 odds for his 10m USD wager.    I will assume that he has already baked that 10m into the price pays by his customers for the mattresses.   So zero sum, and he will look brilliant and be a hero to Houston fans if he wins.  It’s a great PR move….
