Good show game, I was on the fence with cincy but your insight and the nice +137 i just got from the local got me in on that one....I'm wondering what you think of philly/tampa over 9.5....moyer's OPS against right handers is a staggering .946, and the only 2 lefties who figure to be in the lineup tonight (pena and crawford) absolutely crush him (combined 19-39 with 2 hr, 4 doubles, and a triple ) also the injury riddled philly pen has had it's issues of late..... on the other side I like price but he's been very wild and with his high pitch counts usually can't make it even into the 6th. Howard should be back in tonight, and while they struggled at the dish during the last homestand they do lead the league in OPS on the road, so I'm confident they should be able to scratch at least 4 across. How do you feel about the over? or maybe tampa team total over instead? thanks for any insight and good luck on your plays tonight
Don't have the umpire info this early for Game 1 of a series but i can see your reasoning. Only concern is do the Phillies come out and play. They have been in a complete funk lately and the loss of Ibanez has killed them, however, they have been the best team in the majors on the road.

Dodger fan here. I loved taking the + money Sunday against Lackey, but I just can't see much value in them tonight. Danks had two solid outings against the Cubs and Tigers in his most recent starts, and I don't think Kuroda's back to form just yet. The Dodgers are surely the better team, but my gut says Sox tonight. I'm not playing either side, but I like the Sox and the under. Take that FWIW.
Like EVANTORR I'm going with the Jays tonight too. Tallet is going on short rest, but he only threw 76 pitches in his last outing. The Reds don't hit lefties, and it's hard to find any reason to back them.

GH I enjoyed your evaluation of tonight's "Etobicoke Joe" Votto homecoming game... but I would caution anyone expecting an early hook on Tallet this evening. Here's why: Jays watchers know Tallet was steaming pissed - and noticeably so in the dugout - over the early hook he took (for a pinch hitter) in his last start so it says here Cito will want to give him every opportunity to pitch into the later innings as a "reward" for his "clam-up job" after that game now that they are back in an AL park... just some "situational" info you may not have been privy to...

hard to give you any respect when you throw money on the worst pitcher in the majors WANG
+267 units in baseball at Covers during the regular season the past 2.5 years and it's all washed away by one pick on the Yankees in a game that's not even yet played...I guess no other factors matter here except for Wang and we shouldn't focus on anything else. Also, the fact that Wang showed marked improvement in his last game, a 3-2 Yankee loss where his ground ball numbers were outstanding like the old Wang don't factor in here....anyone that says Covers is not entertaining and funny is missing something.

I think the Prez has a man crush on you...he kept calling me Happy off the air....
I answered your question on the air.

Good show game got bos at und 5 -120 good call or not?
I'm with you...a few cents better at -115 for me.....33 out of 44 Lannan starts have been 5 runs or less in the first 5 innings so 75% of the time, we wouldn't have lost at this number.

That's was the most detailed game we talked about on today's show. A quick summary:
1. Tallett is a converted reliever who has been asked to throw a lot more pitches than he has in the past and this is first start ever on three days rest.
2. The Jays pen has been overused and 6 of their last 9 games they have pitched a minimum of 4+ innings.
3. Carlson, Ryan and League all have ERA's above 5.00 in the pen.
4. Tallett should go only 5 innings tonight meaning we will see the overused pen for 4 or so innings.
5. Joey Votto is back for the Reds tonight.
6. The Reds hit better against lefties than righties.
7. Owings has allowed 3 runs or less in 6 of his last 8 starts.
8. Owings has allowed only 1 run in 3 of his last 4 road starts.
I'm a big Jays fan and I'm going to the game tonight! Should I even bother??? You don't make their chances sound too good. LOL
Aside from that, keep up the good work! With you on the Rockies and the Cards tonight. I like your logic for the Reds and the Yanks as well, but obviously, I never bet against my Jays!

GH, I like the wang pick. I look at this as the yanks are the much better team against a kid making only his 4th start and the yanks are even money. I'm hoping for continued improvement from Wang tonight.
Could you elaborate on the A's pick. I was expecting to see slightly better odds on the A's vs Lincecum. My book has it even money and I don't see the value in that. Am I missing something?
I really like the card tonight.
Thanks and GL.

My thoughts on Dodgers:
1. LA is 8-4 on the road against lefties with a .290 average and averaging 6.3 runs per game.
2. In the ChiSox L16 home games, they have scored 47 runs; that's less than 3 a game.
3. LA is 21-14 on the road while the ChiSOx are 16-18 at home.
4. Danks has a 5.14 night time ERA vs. a 2.46 daytime ERA.
5. In Danks last 5 home starts, he has been mediocre at best having thrown 28 2/3 innings and allowing 30 hits and 17 runs.
6. Dye is banged up and probable and Quentin we all know is out.
7. The White Sox live and die by the long ball and Kuroda has only allowed 16 HR's in 211 MLB innings.
MAJOR BONUS FACTORS:
8. Danks has allowed 41 SB's in 52 attempts in his career for 79% allowed.
9. AJ Pierzinski (the baseball player) has allowed 44 SB's in 48 attempts this year for a 92% success rate for the opposition.
10. The Dodgers are 4th in the majors in SB's.
