Sure, the Cubs will pull out of their offensive slump, but
that does not mean it has to be today. At +158 the case can be made that Lester
is a viable fade any time they hand him the ball. The Reds won’t finish ahead
of the Cubs, or win the division, but today is the only day we are concerned
with.
Brewers -132, (Flaherty/Anderson)
Chase Anderson is easily the most undervalued pitcher in the
game right now. He showed that last year with an 18-6 quality start record and 16-8
head to head versus opponent starters. His first start this year he gave up
only one hit in six shutout innings versus the Padres. What’s not to like? In that
class today are Verlander, Sale and Kershaw, but there is not nearly as much
value with them. The line on Kershaw is the only one under 2 bucks, and that is
because of the difference between Godley and the chumps Verlander and Sale are
facing.
