I only make this post to note that the BIGGEST UPSET OF THE YEAR yesterday of PHI over LAD, defeating Clayton Kershaw, happened on his 400thGAME as PHI MGR.
This was the only game I didn't bother to check the night before, because I figured there was no way PHI would win, so why bother to look for a milestone. Well, lesson learned.
No matter how impossible a game looks, ALWAYS check for the milestones.

I think you're stretching this milestone thing. I understand if a manager is going for his 1,000th win at home but to say managing your 400th game is a milestone worth considering is too much of a stretch.

Take PHI/LAD. I looked at the teams, their records, the pitching matchup, and the juice. That alone stopped me from proceeding further. BIG MISTAKE.
If you take the milestones in isolation, you will lose a lot. For instance, NYM MGR hit his 2000th game yesterday and lost BIG. There was an orgy of evidence saying NYM, yet MIA destroyed them.
I have lost my WHOLE bankroll numerous times during the season in that situation and learned it could be a trap. I lost big on that game, but saved myself THIS TIME. I didn't bet everything on a milestone clincher.
My only point is that, no matter how confident I am in a pick, ALWAYS check for milestones.

Milestones are not my ONLY capping tool.
