yUNeeC, it's possible that I go 1 for 2 but over the course of the season I'll have a better record. I'll start posting on my own and if I don't have consistent winning weeks I'll admit I'm a dufus. But in spite of the fact that you call me "kid" and my profile says "prospect" I've been betting baseball since the late 80s and it's been the only sport I've consistently won on.

I live 3 hours from Vegas and took home $50K on baseball last year. Only two losing weekends out of 15 weekend trips.

Everyone looks for trends and teams to get hot but it's still early in the season.  There are usually teams you lay the chalk on for a win because you know the opposing team is a losing ball club.  @Ragu You should not be peddling a Cubs pick and talk about trends.  Unless you are a true degenerate that is one series you should stay as far away as possible.  Those are two teams that you cannot say one is better than the other.  That series is just as good as flipping a coin.

    @rg3skins keep it up buddy!

    MikeyBotz,

Best comment I've heard so far. You have a point about the Cubs but I see the DBacks at a level beyond bad and don't expect a turnaround until Gibson is fired which will happen shortly. Would be a better pick if they weren't playing the Cubs but I still like it and it's a good price for picking against the DBacks.

RG3 I will check in once in a while cause i like your write-ups.
But to say PLAY OF THE SEASON TOM. You sound a little desperate. A little break sure helps once in a while.

And if a pitcher has been hot, chances are he's due for a bad one. The days of Randy Johnson, Roger Clemens etc. are gone. There is no consistent dominance anymore. So what do we do? We identify really bad teams (Diamondbacks) that are on a bad streak or really good teams (maybe Dodgers or Cardinals) that are on a brief losing streak and pick your opportunities to take them. Throw out the pitching matchups unless Phil Coke is the starting pitcher. DBacks won a game today but they are horrendous. And they're on the road. Tomorrow is a golden opportunity to take them especially when they're starting a guy that couldn't get through 4 innings last time out before the hitters figured him out. It's that simple. Don't try to dig into more detail than that.

Anybody can just ride the dodgers, but who wants to lay that juice on a consistent basis, you'll have so low juice here and there, when you have a good opposing pitcher.  The point is to look for advantages, I took the cubs yesterday bc samard has been pitching well this year, and the cubs have hit lefties pretty decent to start the season.  i rode the mets every game of their series against the D-backs, and i still have no clue how they were dogs every game.

Baseball is a game of streaks, whether they be good streaks or bad streaks, and when  a team is hot or cold i tend to ride them as long as i can.  But saying the dbacks suck but the cubs suck less, is just a moronic statement.

I previously stated about managers changing pitchers, bc they are playing the percentages, they're never going to be right 100%, and they're never going to be wrong 100%, you just go with what the numbers tell you to.  this guy takes strop out, brings in russell for lefty on lefty, the right fielder misplays a ball, and now everyone who takes the cubs is a moron, bc of some terrible rightfielder, who misplays a ball on the next batter as well and breaks his behind on the bullpen mound

I haven't been tailing him lately, in fact, I have even gone against him a few times, that doesn't mean he sucks, it just means I have  a  mind of my own.  His ML picks have been pretty bad, but is totals are usually spot on, with the information he gathers.  I would love to see your picks daily, and see what kind of juice you lay each day, then we'll see who is ThePicker

    Record correction

    YTD: 70-61 (+3.28 units)
    ML: 41-47 (-23.21 units)
    Totals: 29-14 (+26.49 units)

Ragu71: I never said your plays lacked logic, I said your response did. Explain to me how any of my plays didn't involve rhythm. Take yesterday for example. Cubs (hotter team), Astros (hotter team), Rangers (hotter team), Yankees (hotter team), Royals (hotter team), etc. It was a hard luck day.

As for today, Corey Kluber is a much better pitcher than Chen. Can they lose? Sure. But at -125 at home it's a good play.

I really like the under because the San Diego bats are really struggling right now. I like Zimmermann to go 8 innings of 1 run ball.

I love your logic. Baseball is evil. No other team sport relies so much on one player. Hate it for betting. But can't stay away....

    rg3skins -- what's your opinion on Phillies/Dodgers Over today?
Looks like Haren and Kendrick give up a lot of hits to both lineups, respectively.. several batters on either team with .300+ averages over more than 10 At-Bats..

Dwade, I wouldn't touch either of those games. I see absolutely no advantage either way in the Cleveland game. Two mediocre teams. Toss up game. St. Louis is a little tempting but Colon surprises me all the time and St. Louis isn't playing their best at the moment. Can't take St. Louis on the road here. Wait for their next series.

RG3, just feel like you're trying to force wins right now and you're out of the zone ittle at the moment. Too many picks. Believe me I want you to get hot. I have no problem tailing others when they're hot. I just want to make money and could care less who is right. I'll only post on your thread from now on if I'm adding some encouragement. I'll start my own. Get hot man.

Ragu if you take Dodgers at home for 5 games at -150
or cubs at +130 or better for 5 games. I guarantee your not gonna end up much better from the loses of your juice. It always makes more since taking your stud teams. But when they do lose which they will lose at least 2 of those 5. Your losing all the money and some in juice. Your better off taking 5 plus money dogs even if they are shitty teams like cubs or Arizona then laying ur big juice Dodgers home games woth greinke on the mound

Rod, I agree with you but would never blindly take each team for 5 games in a row. I pick my spots. Today's set up for both Cubs and Dodgers is one I like.
