Rockies: As bad as he is I have De La Rosa
as the “Top Gun” of the Rockies at this time,
and Liriano as very, very shaky in reliability. This is the Rockies
best shot at taking one in this weekend series and they should come out of the
break ready to play. I am only asking 5 innings, then they can go back to arguing
with the D-backs over who is going to finish 5th in the division.
Royals: So, Bucholz has one good outing for
the entire season and he and the Red Sox are back, right? Well, the Sox offense
stinks and Bucholz had his one great shot versus the Astros, one of the worst
righty hitting teams in MLB. The advantage in going 9 innings here is not only
a slightly higher payout than F5, but also that I do not want a push. If it
comes down to bullpens versus offenses I still want the Royals.
White Sox: Thanks to a little success the
Astros have now become sort of a Chic pick. Plenty of folks are ready to tell
you they saw it coming but I am the one that started making money on them two
months ago, when one of our thread contributors called them “a shitbox team”. Sharper
bettors have caught up and also realize the Astros forte is hitting against left
handed pitching, which they are tonight, BUT;
there are currently only 5 better lefties than Quintana in all of MLB and the
only one they have beaten was Price (3-1), on a night the Rays couldn’t score
on Cosart, which also, by coincidence, was Cosart’s best start of the year. I
do not see the White Sox having that kind of trouble with Feldman. Better
offense, weaker pitcher. If you are a Feldman fan I will tell you this: He is
as available as a guy can get, but you won’t see any of the contenders beating
a path to the Astros door to acquire him. He has come to the point in his
career where people are renting him on a temporary basis and that is as true of
the Astros as anyone else. They have more and better on the way and if they continue
developing and the Rangers get healthy the A.L. West could remain the best
division in baseball for a long time.

You gonna take a stab at the Cubs/DBacks O8.5/9? I think Jackson leaves around the 5th inning trailing 7-2......
Nah, pathetic pitching has to get it's wins somewhere and it is usually against pathetic offense. The Cubs are tempting as a dog versus another pathetic team and that means I have to believe Jackson can man up versus Cahill.

Yea I agree with Key. Edwin should look in much better form vs the dbacks and is really the only thing scaring me off the over. For this reason i think Cubs ML is the better play.

There are only 3 "better" leftie starters than Quintana imho. Keshaw, Price, and Chris Sale. Bum in SF and John Lester must be your 4th and fifths? I do like Lester

It was 5 and according to my numbers they are: 1. Kershaw 2. Sale 3. Price 4. Kazmir 5. Lester Down the line are Hamels, Lee, Keuchel and Bumgarner That is pretty nice company to be in

Cubs on the road are fade material.. Dbacks actually seem to jump on teams early at home.. it's the terrible managing decisions made by Gibson like putting Randall Delgado into the game that seems to cost em

Cubs 10-10 away last 20 D-backs 8-12 home last 20 Ignore Don't blame Gibson for the roster Towers gave him. This team was doomed from the start, I said so last winter before they went to camp.

Was Baltimore a winner since it didn't go 8.5 innings? It was for a full game bet, but not a 5 inning bet.
I saw a lot of mixed results on that. My local paid as his rule is the same for 5 as for 9. 4.5 with the home team ahead, or 8.5 with the home team ahead completes the bet. Other guys were cancelled out because 5 full innings were not played (I wonder if the same books refunded NY bets, hmm?). We have a few of those every year and I have been on the screwed side to. I suppose it all evens out after a million plays.
