A pitcher’s official W-L record is actually of very little importance. The Tigers have won Sanchez last 7 starts by averaging 7 runs per game during an offensive explosion. He, personally, did nothing special. It is not like he won a string of 2-1 ball games.

I see a couple comments related to Cano, who is hitting well, but there is no such thing as a one man offense. The entire Mariners lineup is cooperating, production coming from everywhere. Cano could go 0-4 and The M’s might still put up 4 or 5 runs. Pitching is individualistic, offense is a team effort.
