Burnes was not gonna resign and pitching injuries etc have left the Birds in Arne Saknussem shape.

Burnes was always a 1 year rental. We are talking about Baltimore sports. You have to be one rare kind of player to get a long term deal for a lot of money from a Baltimore organization. They think they are smarter than everyone else so the last thing they are going to do is spend.

Letting Santander go hurt them bigger than anyone thought. The man put up consistent numbers in Baltimore.

Once Kyle Gibson comes back there will be light at the end of the tunnel, which should be soon. Orioles will be in the mix still and probably will get hot in June or so. I wouldn’t count on them getting the 88.5 over win total though. And may not need to if that whole division under performs.
