Mr. Bator - What is your involvement with the Diamondbacks and Phillies game tonight.
I lean to over 7.5 runs. The hits continue with weaker pitching for both teams. The total should land on 8 runs or better.

I am not betting on the D-Backs tonight. I am not betting on them because last night's result left me feeling like I have already risked far too much against the mighty Phillies.
Exactly two weeks ago, the Phillies began their postseason run against the Marlins. The game was scoreless after two innings, but in the bottom of the 3rd the Phillies got an RBI double to take a 1-0 lead. I remember being struck by the reaction from the players in the Phillies dugout. Numerous Phillies were pounding on the barrier that protects the dugout from foul balls. These guys were cheering hard, as if the team was much further along in the playoffs than the 3rd inning of their very first game. At that moment, it felt like the Marlins were in over their heads. I remember thinking to myself "The Marlins are not getting in their way."
Well, last night, after Kyle Schwarber belted Zac Gallen's first pitch out of the park, followed four pitches later by Bryce Harper's latest smash, I got that same feeling about the D-Backs. They're a strong team right now, but they might be in over their heads against this Phillies team that continues to show us in every game that they really want this. It just feels like the D-Backs are not getting in their way.
I hope I'm wrong, but I feel like I was wrong to unload on the underdog in this series. Even before last night's game, it felt difficult to envision the D-Backs winning Game 1. Zack Wheeler had a lot to do with that. Now, after taking in Game 1, it seems even harder to envision anyone going into that stadium and winning a game against the Phillies and their crazed fans (crazed in a good way, of course).

@MrBator
I will post my own thread but what's to fear other than home field. Sure, the Phillies team and bats are to fear but, why can't Merrill Kelly silence them? Is Aaron Nola really that good or is he a bit overrated. I have watched him for years and I tend to think he's a bit more overrated, though a very solid pitcher. Now look at Merrill Kelly...who even talks about him being on the same level?
I agree, I just pounded the series odds because I am amazed I can get +320 when the series is just 1-0 to Philadelphia, and they haven't even headed west to play a game. It's more about value and @MrBator don't question the value. You can question the decision, but it's the right one. And if the Dbacks take tonights game, those odds will surely change and so will peoples tunes.
As always, good luck to all...

I fear what appears increasingly obvious to me, that the Phillies want this championship more than any of the teams in this entire 12-team field.

That is what it feels like, yes. The players themselves look like they are ready to literally lower their shoulders and blast through a locked door if that's what it takes to win.

LOL @ the Target commercial rant
I agree with you MrB. I didn't think Nola had it in him, but he proved me dead wrong against Atlanta. He's now looked great in both playoff games, giving up just 2 earned runs in 12.2 innings. I like Kelly, but I can't fade this Philly team. They do appear to be on a mission. I'll just watch and enjoy this one.
BOL to everyone!

The D-Backs are now nothing more than the Washington Generals after Trea Turner turned on that Merrill Kelly meatball. I hope I’m wrong.
(I’m not wrong)

The D-Backs have given up on even swinging the bat as Evan Longoria takes his third strike and turns quickly to head back to his dugout.
Feeble outs. Aaron Nola looks great.

Nola does look great! But if I’m on Philly, I’m not comfortable with a 2 run lead. Kelly needs to keep ‘em in this and then one mistake can flip everything
