Phillies Lineup??

Phillies will rest players today. Lineup is not out, but according to the NYT, Ken Rosenthal, etc. Phillies will rest after clinching last night.

They were shown last night wearing goggles cracking open the bubbly champagne, and might be hung over from partying, who knows....

Just throwing caution out there if you like the Phillies awesome home record vs the non playoff Cubs.

People were saying the same with Dodgers and fading them when clinched and celebrated Ohtani in the same night then had fly a cross the country but they still handled business the next day.  I think these players show up when they want and if the Phillies really want that #1 seed they will handle business today like the Dodgers did on Fri

Agreed they can show up, but Dodgers did not clinch exc a playoff spot. They can lose this series to the Padres, and they will go in as a wild card, not as division winners.

Cubs were -120 when I posted and played them. I believe they opened at -120.

That was the headline on ESPN after they won last Thurs.  I was just responding to the word clinched in your 1st post didn't know you meant division only but I gotcha.  I'm sure they still got just as wasted tho

Cubs went from -120 in the markets, to + =105, after the lineups were announced. Trending Phillies action/public money.

My final thoughts are this--the game is a tossup. It might even land on its side (extra innings).

My thinking currently,  is that 8 runs is a bit low. I think both teams can hit their target of 4+ runs, so the over is a legit target. I don't see this being a tight small ball type of game......

I have a Cubs ml ticket, but cannot recommend that to anyone. Just letttin it ride and hope it hits. I don't recommend Phillies either.....the outcome to me, is a coin toss.

Correct. Part of why I don't see this as a small ball type of game. Very hard to get a full complementary effort plus a full perfect bullpen effort right now. Prefer the over 8. Game is a coin toss. Cubs are a .500 team on the road, and might be better today after the loss yesterday. I dunno

He threw 57 pitches in 2.2 innings, and I believe was pulled with the bases loaded.....vs the deadly Athletics.

I can't see that happening....SD has been the Dodger's bitch for awhile now and I can't see them getting swept. They also have the Rockies up next while the Padres and DBacks will fight it out on the last series of the season. Can't see the Dodgers as a wildcard team while they're in the driver's seat. I also can't remember when the Dodgers got swept this late at home in Sept over the last 10 - 15 years vs a division opponent.

Phils are all hungover.

Something tells me this Phillies team has bigger fish to fry than just winning the NL least.

SD -105 Padres are winning the series for the year, and a win here puts pressure on the Dodgers tomorrow. Dont wanna open the door for the Padres tomorrow....

Giants vs Dbacks over 8. Both teams should reach their target average--Snakes average an incredible 7 runs per game, and Giants might enjoy pestering them with runs...
