I understand that part of the hate, but to hate and laugh at players  when they get hurt bad like Tex did that is just inhuman and pathetic. 

As far as the payroll, yes they are not breaking any rules, this conversation has been going on since i started on this site in 06, the same people talking about that same shit.  The shitty part is it will never stop on this site and the hatred for the Yanks will never stop. The Yankees YES network rakes in hundreds of millions of dollars, the Yankees spend money to make there fans happy and try to win every year.  There are not many franchises that give back to there fans like the Yankees.  Do we overpay for some players, yes, i will not deny that nobody will.  But if you are preventing an elite player from going to a competitor then you have to do what you have to do...

OK, so when Lee is available after this season, who I coming off to make up the difference for what they are going to offer him

Jeter will get a lot...but it won't equal his year to year rate this year. Pettitte is probably retiring. Nick Johnson's $5.5 mill comes off the books. Pettitte + Johnson are $17 million right there. Expect Lee to get over $20 million, add that Granderson's contract goes up a bit. Who knows what Jeter will be getting per year...but will it really be $22.6? I can see $18-20...that probably cancels out Granderson. And, of course, the Yankees don't mind spending what is necessary. Even if it means going over the $200 million mark.

2008 they had a salary around $209 and missed the playoffs.

2009 they had a salary around $201 and won the WS.

2010 they have a salary around $206.

Just goes to show how much money isn't as big a factor as everyone makes it out to be.
