4-6-2 yesterday for +.44, had to scratch n claw yesterday. Won a 5 unit play, I'm 1-1 on those this year.


1. Pirates 1st 5 ML(-110) *1.10/1.00
Hellickson/Musgrove listed

2. Pirates TT OVER 4.5(+110) *1/1.10


Hellickson has done some fine work this year, but he's old and starting to wear down. Hot and fairly humid with slight winds blowing out.

The Nats could put up some runs in this one too. Complintating a full game over, maybe.

I'll take the Rays pen all game vs Boyd and who ever else throws. Rays threw a new kid out there yesterday who bombed.

4. Cubs ML(-101) *1/.99
Quintana/Cueto listed

The Cubs will shake off the jet lag. Q should follow up Hendricks with a good outing as pitching can be contagious just as hitting.

Cueto has to prove he's back mentally and physically. I'm not waiting another outing to fade him, let's get him now.

Covey in his last 3 or 4 outings has been throwing in the low 90's. Against Oak I believe he left in the 4th inning with a hip issue of some sort. His 2 seamer and splitter are no where near as effective as when he was living between 95-98mph.

I don't think he's 100%. It's a shame because he was throwing some of the nastiest stuff I've seen all year from anyone.

Hey good to see you. Play #4 cancelled...man I don't know if I feel like looking into Holland now. I might though. Suarez had the advantage of the Cubs never seeing him, I'm sure they've seen plenty of Holland.

It's a little nutty that the total of this game is at 11.5, and there's a game at Coors today with a total of 11.

Here's what I'm seeing. The Rangers have bottomed out vs RHP recently, or have they just run into some tough arms?

Fulmer, Fiers, Zimmerman, Cole are the right handed starters they've seen in July. These guys since June 20th, have a combined average stat line of:

.206 BA allowed, .604 OPS allowed, and a 3.19 FIP rating


Hector Velasquez since June 20th:

.340 BA allowed, .824 OPS allowed, and a 4.12 FIP rating.

This dude is a bullpen guy, and usually a platoon specialist who faces mostly righties. The Rangers are using 5 LHB's today. Velasquez vs LHB's=.273/.802 with a 5.05 FIP.

If you ever seen this guy pitch, he throws a good splitter. He pitches to contact and tries to force ground balls. He strikes out NO ONE. He couldn't strike out a one eyed pirate if he was throwing golf balls. I gotta call him a Finesse pitcher because he's only around 50% fastball, and he throws it around 92 give or take.

Texas vs GB pitchers this year: .265/.772, #5 in sOPS+

Texas vs Finesse pitchers this year: .253/.765, #11 in sOPS+


I'll plug my nose every time Gallardo pitches. Boston is murdering righties. I don't play +1.5 much at all, for +105 juice lets give it a roll.

Not on board with the Rays play Sac. Boyd has given up fewer hits than innings pitched but has been a victim of his own control. However The Rays are in the bottom half of the league in accepting free passes and in the top half of striking out. That should play into Boyd's favor. The Tigers had 9 different players contribute at least a hit last night and I'd think that momentum carries over.

It's more of a toss up game to me and not worth laying a significant number on a middling team. As a Rays fan and former season ticket holder, I approve this message.
